Chapter 13 ¹ And Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 went up𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤋 out of Egypt,𐤌𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 he, and his wife,𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤕𐤅 and all that he had, and Lot𐤅𐤋𐤅𐤈 with him, into the south.𐤄𐤍𐤂𐤁𐤄 Άνέβη δέ Ἁβρὰμ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτοῦ καὶ Λὼτ μετ’ αὐτοῦ εἰς τὴν ἔρημον. ² And Abram𐤅𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 was very𐤌𐤀𐤃 rich in cattle,𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 in silver,𐤁𐤊𐤎𐤐 and in gold.𐤅𐤁𐤆𐤄𐤁 Ἀβρὰμ δὲ ἢν πλούσιος σφόδρα κτήνεσιν καὶ ἀργυρίῳ κοὶ χρυσίῳ. ³ And he went on his journeys𐤋𐤌𐤎𐤏𐤉𐤅 from the south𐤌𐤍𐤂𐤁 even to Beth–el,𐤁𐤉𐤕 unto the place𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 where his tent𐤀𐤄𐤋𐤅 had been𐤄𐤉𐤄 at the beginning,𐤁𐤕𐤇𐤋𐤄 between Beth–el𐤀𐤋 and Hai;𐤄𐤏𐤉 καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὄθεν ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ἕως Βαιθήλ, ἕως τοῦ τόπου οὗ ἦν ἡ σκηνὴ αὐτοῦ τὸ πρότερον, ἀνὰ μέσον Βαιθήλ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Ἀγγαί, ⁴ Unto the place𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 of the altar,𐤄𐤌𐤆𐤁𐤇 which he had made𐤏𐤔𐤄 there at the first:𐤁𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤄 and there Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 on the name𐤁𐤔𐤌 of the Lord.𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 εἰς τὸν τόπον τοῦ οὗ ἐποίησεν ἐκεῖ τὴν σκηνήν· καὶ ἐπεκαλέσατο τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου. ⁵ And Lot𐤋𐤋𐤅𐤈 also, which went𐤄𐤄𐤋𐤊 with𐤀𐤕 Abram,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 had flocks,𐤑𐤀𐤍 and herds,𐤅𐤁𐤒𐤓 and tents.𐤅𐤀𐤄𐤋𐤉𐤌 καὶ Λὼτ τῷ συμπορευομένῳ μετὰ Ἀβαὰμ ἢν πρόβατα καὶ βόες καὶ κτήνη. ⁶ And the land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 was not able to bear𐤍𐤔𐤀 them, that they might dwell𐤋𐤔𐤁𐤕 together:𐤉𐤇𐤃𐤅 for their substance𐤓𐤊𐤅𐤔𐤌 was great,𐤓𐤁 so that they could𐤉𐤊𐤋𐤅 not dwell𐤋𐤔𐤁𐤕 together.𐤉𐤇𐤃𐤅 καὶ οὐκ ἐχώρει αὐτοὺς ἡ γῆ κατοικεῖν κεῖν ἅμα, ὅτι ἦν τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτῶν πολλά καὶ οὐκ ἐδύναντο κατοικεῖν ὁμὰ. ⁷ And there was a strife𐤓𐤉𐤁 between the herdmen𐤓𐤏𐤉 of Abram's𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 cattle𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 and the herdmen𐤓𐤏𐤉 of Lot's𐤋𐤅𐤈 cattle:𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 and the Canaanite𐤅𐤄𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍𐤉 and the Perizzite𐤅𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤆𐤉 dwelled𐤉𐤔𐤁 then in the land.𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 καὶ ἐγένετο μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν τοῦ Ἀβρὰμ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων τῶν κτηνῶν Λώτ. οἱ δὲ Χαναναῖοι καὶ οἱ Φερεζαῖοι τότε κατῴκουν τήν γῆν. ⁸ And Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Lot,𐤋𐤅𐤈 Let there be𐤕𐤄𐤉 no𐤀𐤋 strife,𐤌𐤓𐤉𐤁𐤄 I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen𐤓𐤏𐤉 and thy herdmen;𐤓𐤏𐤉𐤊 for we𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 be brethren.𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤌 εἶπεν δὲ Ἁβρὰμ τῷ Λὼτ Μὴ ἔστω μάχη ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ποιμένων σοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν πομενων μου, ὅτι ἄνθρωποι ἀδελφοὶ ἡμεῖς ἐσμέν. ⁹ Is not the whole land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 before thee?𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤊 separate thyself,𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤃 I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand,𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤋 then I will go to the right;𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤌𐤍𐤄 or if thou depart to the right hand,𐤄𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍 then I will go to the left.𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤉𐤋𐤄 καὶ ἰδοὺ πᾶσα ἡ γῆ ε’ναντον σου· διαχωρίσθητι ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ. εἰ σὺ εἰς ἀριστερά, ἐγὼ εἰς δεξιά· εἰ δὲ εἰς ἀριστερά. ¹⁰ And Lot𐤋𐤅𐤈 lifted up𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤀 his eyes,𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤅 and beheld𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀 all the plain𐤊𐤊𐤓 of Jordan,𐤄𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤍 that it was well watered𐤌𐤔𐤒𐤄 every where, before𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 destroyed𐤔𐤇𐤕 Sodom𐤎𐤃𐤌 and Gomorrah,𐤏𐤌𐤓𐤄 even as the garden𐤊𐤂𐤍 of the Lord,𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 like the land𐤊𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 as thou comest𐤁𐤀𐤊𐤄 unto Zoar.𐤑𐤏𐤓 καὶ ἐπάρας Λὼτ τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, ὅτι πᾶσα ἦν ποτιζομένη πρὸ τοῦ καταστρέψαι τὸν θεὸν Σόδομα καὶ Γόμορρα ὡς ὁ παράδεισος τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ὡς ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου, ἕως ἐλθεῖν εἰς όγορα. ¹¹ Then Lot𐤋𐤅𐤈 chose𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤇𐤓 him all the plain𐤊𐤊𐤓 of Jordan;𐤄𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤍 and Lot𐤋𐤅𐤈 journeyed𐤅𐤉𐤎𐤏 east:𐤌𐤒𐤃𐤌 and they separated themselves𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤓𐤃𐤅 the one𐤀𐤉𐤔 from the other.𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 καὶ ἐξελἐξατο ἑαυτῷ Λὼτ πᾶσαν τὴν περίχωρον τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, κα ἀπῆρεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν. καὶ διεχωρίσθησαν ἕκαστος ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ. ¹² Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 dwelled𐤉𐤔𐤁 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan,𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 and Lot𐤅𐤋𐤅𐤈 dwelled𐤉𐤔𐤁 in the cities𐤁𐤏𐤓𐤉 of the plain,𐤄𐤊𐤊𐤓 and pitched his tent𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤄𐤋 toward𐤏𐤃 Sodom.𐤎𐤃𐤌 Ἀβρὰμ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν γῇ Χαωάαν. Λὼτ δὲ κατῴκησεν ἐν πόλει περιχώρων καὶ ἐσκήνωσεν ἐν Σοδόμοις. ¹³ But the men𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉 of Sodom𐤎𐤃𐤌 were wicked𐤓𐤏𐤉𐤌 and sinners𐤅𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤉𐤌 before the Lord𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 exceedingly.𐤌𐤀𐤃 οἱ δὲ δὲ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐν πονηροὶ καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐναντίον τοῦ θεοῦ σφόδρα. ¹⁴ And the Lord𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Abram,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 after𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 that Lot𐤋𐤅𐤈 was separated𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤃 from him, Lift up𐤔𐤀 now thine eyes,𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤊 and look𐤅𐤓𐤀𐤄 from the place𐤄𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 where thou art northward,𐤑𐤐𐤍𐤄 and southward,𐤅𐤍𐤂𐤁𐤄 and eastward,𐤅𐤒𐤃𐤌𐤄 and westward:𐤅𐤉𐤌𐤄 ὁ δὲ θεὸς εἶπεν τῷ ἉΒράμ μετὰ τὸ διαχωρισθῆναι τὸν Τὸν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ Ἀνάβλεψον τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς σου καὶ ἴδε ἀπό τοῦ τόπου οὗ νῦν σὺ εἰ πρὸς βορρᾶν καὶ λίβα καὶ ἀνατολὰς καὶ θάλασσαν· ¹⁵ For all the land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 which thou seest,𐤓𐤀𐤄 to thee will I give it,𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤍𐤄 and to thy seed𐤅𐤋𐤆𐤓𐤏𐤊 for𐤏𐤃 ever.𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌 ὄτι πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν ἣν σὺ ὁρᾷς, σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου ἕως τοῦ αἰῶνος. ¹⁶ And I will make𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤕𐤉 thy seed𐤆𐤓𐤏𐤊 as the dust𐤊𐤏𐤐𐤓 of the earth:𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 so that𐤀𐤔𐤓 if a man𐤀𐤉𐤔 can𐤉𐤅𐤊𐤋 number𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤅𐤕 the dust𐤏𐤐𐤓 of the earth,𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 then shall thy seed𐤆𐤓𐤏𐤊 also be numbered.𐤉𐤌𐤍𐤄 καὶ ποιήσω τὸ σπέρμα σου ὡς τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς· εἰ δύναταί τις ἐξαριθμῆσαι τὴν ἄμμον τῆς γῆς, καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου ἀριθμηθήσεται. ¹⁷ Arise,𐤒𐤅𐤌 walk𐤄𐤕𐤄𐤋𐤊 through the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 in the length𐤋𐤀𐤓𐤊𐤄 of it and in the breadth𐤅𐤋𐤓𐤇𐤁𐤄 of it; for I will give𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤍𐤄 it unto thee. ἀναστὰς διόδευσον τὴν γῆν εἴς τε τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ εἰς τὸ πλάτος· ὄτι σοὶ δώσω αὐτὴν καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα. ¹⁸ Then Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 removed his tent,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤄𐤋 and came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 and dwelt𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁 in the plain𐤁𐤀𐤋𐤍𐤉 of Mamre,𐤌𐤌𐤓𐤀 which is in Hebron,𐤁𐤇𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤍 and built𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤍 there an altar𐤌𐤆𐤁𐤇 unto the Lord.𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤐 καὶ Ἀβρὰμ ἐλθὼν κατῴκησεν παρὰ τὴν δρῦν τὴν Μαμβρήν, ἐν Χεβρών· καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν ἐκεῖ θυσιαστήριον Κυρἰῳ.
