Chapter 6 ¹ And it came to pass, when men𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌 began𐤄𐤇𐤋 to multiply𐤋𐤓𐤁 on𐤏𐤋 the face𐤐𐤍𐤉 of the earth,𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 and daughters𐤅𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 were born𐤉𐤋𐤃𐤅 unto them, Καὶ ἦν Νῶε ἐτῶν πεντακοσίων, καὶ ἐγέννησεν Νῶε τρεῖς υἱούς, τὸν Σῆμ’, τὸν Χάμ, τὸν Ἰάφεθ. Καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἤρξαντο οἱ ἄνθρωποι πολλοὶ γίνεσθαι ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ θυγατέρες ἐγενήθησαν αὐτοῖς· ² That the sons𐤁𐤍𐤉 of God𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 saw𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀𐤅 the daughters𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 of men𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌 that they𐤄𐤍𐤄 were fair;𐤈𐤁𐤕 and they took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇𐤅 them wives𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 of all which they chose.𐤁𐤇𐤓𐤅 ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ἄγγελοι τοῦ τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων ὅτι καλαί εἰσιν, ἔλαβον ἑαυτοῖς γυναῖκας ἀπὸ πασῶν ὧν ἐξελέξαντο. ³ And the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 My spirit𐤓𐤅𐤇𐤉 shall not always𐤋𐤏𐤋𐤌 strive𐤉𐤃𐤅𐤍 with man,𐤁𐤀𐤃𐤌 for that he also𐤁𐤔𐤂𐤌 is flesh:𐤁𐤔𐤓 yet his days𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤅 shall be an hundred𐤌𐤀𐤄 and twenty𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤉𐤌 years.𐤔𐤍𐤄 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεός Οὐ μὴ καταμείνῃ τὸ πνεῦμά μου ἐν τοῖς ἀνθρώποις τούτοις εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, διὰ τὸ εἶναι αὐτοὺς σάρκας· ἔσονται δὲ αἱ ἡμέραι αὐτῶν ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ἔτη. ⁴ There were giants𐤄𐤍𐤐𐤋𐤉𐤌 in the earth𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 in those days;𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 and also after𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 that,𐤊𐤍 when𐤀𐤔𐤓 the sons𐤁𐤍𐤉 of God𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 came in𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 unto the daughters𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 of men,𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌 and they bare𐤅𐤉𐤋𐤃𐤅 children to them, the same𐤄𐤄𐤌 became mighty men𐤄𐤂𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 which were of old,𐤌𐤏𐤅𐤋𐤌 men𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉 of renown.𐤄𐤔𐤌 𐤐 οἱ δὲ γίγαντες ἦσαν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις, καὶ μετ’ ἐκεῖνο ὡς ἄν εἰσεπορεύοντο οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ θεοῦ πρὸς τὰς θυγατέρας τῶν ἀνθρώπων, καὶ ἐγεννῶσαν ἑαυτοῖς· ἐκεῖνοι ἦσαν οἱ γίγαντες οἱ ἀπ’ αἰῶνος, οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ὀνομαστοί. ⁵ And God𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 saw𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀 that the wickedness𐤓𐤏𐤕 of man𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌 was great𐤓𐤁𐤄 in the earth,𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 and that every imagination𐤉𐤑𐤓 of the thoughts𐤌𐤇𐤔𐤁𐤕 of his heart𐤋𐤁𐤅 was only𐤓𐤒 evil𐤓𐤏 continually.𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 ἰδὼν δὲ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὅτι ἐπληθύνθησαν αἱ κακίαι τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ πᾶς τις διανοεῖται ἐν τῇ καρδίᾳ αὐτοῦ ἐπιμελῶς ἐπὶ τὰ πονηρὰ πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας· ⁶ And it repented𐤅𐤉𐤍𐤇𐤌 the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 that he had made𐤏𐤔𐤄 man𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌 on the earth,𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 and it grieved𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤏𐤑𐤁 him at𐤀𐤋 his heart.𐤋𐤁𐤅 καὶ ἐνεθυμήθη θεὸς ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ διενοήθη. ⁷ And the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 I will destroy𐤀𐤌𐤇𐤄 man𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌 whom I have created𐤁𐤓𐤀𐤕𐤉 from the face𐤐𐤍𐤉 of the earth;𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 both man,𐤌𐤀𐤃𐤌 and𐤏𐤃 beast,𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 and the creeping thing,𐤓𐤌𐤔 and the fowls𐤏𐤅𐤐 of the air;𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 for it repenteth𐤍𐤇𐤌𐤕𐤉 me that I have made𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤕𐤌 them. καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεός Ἀπαλείψω τὸν ἄνθρωπον ὃν ἐποίησα ἀπὸ προσώπου τῆς γῆς, ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους καὶ ἀπὸ ἑρπετῶν ἕως τῶν πετεινῶν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ· ὅτι ἐθυμώθην ὅτι ἐποίησα αὐτούς. ⁸ But Noah𐤅𐤍𐤇 found𐤌𐤑𐤀 grace𐤇𐤍 in the eyes𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 of the Lord.𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 𐤐 Νῶε δὲ εὗρεν χάριν κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ. ⁹ These are the generations𐤕𐤅𐤋𐤃𐤕 of Noah:𐤍𐤇 Noah𐤍𐤇 was a just𐤑𐤃𐤉𐤒 man𐤀𐤉𐤔 and perfect𐤕𐤌𐤉𐤌 in his generations,𐤁𐤃𐤓𐤕𐤉𐤅 and Noah𐤍𐤇 walked𐤄𐤕𐤄𐤋𐤊 with God.𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 Αὗται δὲ οἱ γενέσεις Νῶε. Νῶε ἄνθρωπος δίκαιος, τέλειος ὢν τῇ γενέσει αὐτοῦ· τῷ θεῷ εὐηρέστησεν Νῶε. ¹⁰ And Noah𐤍𐤇 begat𐤅𐤉𐤅𐤋𐤃 three𐤔𐤋𐤔𐤄 sons,𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌 Shem,𐤔𐤌 Ham,𐤇𐤌 and Japheth.𐤉𐤐𐤕 ἐγέννησεν δὲ Νῶε τρεῖς υἱούς, τὸν Σῆμ’, τὸν Χάμ, τὸν ἸάΦεθ. ¹¹ The earth𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 also was corrupt𐤅𐤕𐤔𐤇𐤕 before𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 God,𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 and the earth𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 was filled𐤅𐤕𐤌𐤋𐤀 with violence.𐤇𐤌𐤎 ἐφθάρη δὲ ἡ γῆ τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ἀδικίας. ¹² And God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 looked𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀 upon the earth,𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 and, behold, it was corrupt;𐤍𐤔𐤇𐤕𐤄 for all flesh𐤁𐤔𐤓 had corrupted𐤄𐤔𐤇𐤉𐤕 his way𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤅 upon the earth.𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 𐤎 καὶ ἴδεν Κύριος ὁ θεὸς καὶ ἦν κατεφθαρμένη, ὅτι κατέφθειρεν πᾶσα σὰρξ τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς. ¹³ And God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Noah,𐤋𐤍𐤇 The end𐤒𐤑 of all flesh𐤁𐤔𐤓 is come𐤁𐤀 before me;𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 for the earth𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 is filled with𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤄 violence𐤇𐤌𐤎 through them;𐤌𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤄𐤌 and, behold, I will destroy𐤌𐤔𐤇𐤉𐤕𐤌 them with𐤀𐤕 the earth.𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 Καὶ εἶπεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Νῶε Καιρὸς παντὸς ἀνθρώπου ἐναντίον μου, ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ γῆ ἀδικίας ἀπ’ αὐτῶν· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καταφθείρω αὐτοὺς καὶ τὴν γῆν. ¹⁴ Make𐤏𐤔𐤄 thee an ark𐤕𐤁𐤕 of gopher𐤂𐤐𐤓 wood;𐤏𐤑𐤉 rooms𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤌 shalt thou make𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤄 in the ark,𐤄𐤕𐤁𐤄 and shalt pitch𐤅𐤊𐤐𐤓𐤕 it within𐤌𐤁𐤉𐤕 and without𐤅𐤌𐤇𐤅𐤑 with pitch.𐤁𐤊𐤐𐤓 ποίησον οὖν σεαυτῷ κιβωτὸν ἐκ ξύλων τετραγώνων· νοσσιὰς ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ ἀσφαλτώσεις αὐτὴν ἔσωθεν καὶ ἔξωθεν τῇ ἀσφάλτῳ. ¹⁵ And this is the fashion which thou shalt make𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤄 it of: The length𐤀𐤓𐤊 of the ark𐤄𐤕𐤁𐤄 shall be three𐤔𐤋𐤔 hundred𐤌𐤀𐤅𐤕 cubits,𐤀𐤌𐤄 the breadth𐤓𐤇𐤁𐤄 of it fifty𐤇𐤌𐤔𐤉𐤌 cubits,𐤀𐤌𐤄 and the height𐤒𐤅𐤌𐤕𐤄 of it thirty𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤔𐤉𐤌 cubits.𐤀𐤌𐤄 καὶ οὕτως ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν· τριακοσίων πήχεων τὸ μῆκος τῆς κιβωτοῦ, καὶ πεντήκοντα πήχεων τὸ πλάτος, καὶ τριάκοντα πήχεων τὸ ὕψος αὐτῆς. ¹⁶ A window𐤑𐤄𐤓 shalt thou make𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤄 to the ark,𐤋𐤕𐤁𐤄 and in a cubit𐤀𐤌𐤄 shalt thou finish𐤕𐤊𐤋𐤍𐤄 it above;𐤌𐤋𐤌𐤏𐤋𐤄 and the door𐤅𐤐𐤕𐤇 of the ark𐤄𐤕𐤁𐤄 shalt thou set𐤕𐤔𐤉𐤌 in the side thereof;𐤁𐤑𐤃𐤄 with lower,𐤕𐤇𐤕𐤉𐤌 second,𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 and third𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤔𐤉𐤌 stories shalt thou make𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤄 it. ἐπισυνάγων ποιήσεις τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ εἰς πῆχυν συντελέσεις αὐτὴν ἄνωθεν· τὴν δὲ θύραν τῆς κιβωτοῦ ποιήσεις ἐκ πλαγίων· κατάγαια διώροφα καὶ τριώροφα ποιήσεις αὐτήν. ¹⁷ And, behold,𐤄𐤍𐤍𐤉 I,𐤅𐤀𐤍𐤉 even I, do bring𐤌𐤁𐤉𐤀 a flood𐤄𐤌𐤁𐤅𐤋 of waters𐤌𐤉𐤌 upon the earth,𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 to destroy𐤋𐤔𐤇𐤕 all flesh,𐤁𐤔𐤓 wherein is the breath𐤓𐤅𐤇 of life,𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤌 from under𐤌𐤕𐤇𐤕 heaven;𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 and every thing𐤊𐤋 that is in the earth𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 shall die.𐤉𐤂𐤅𐤏 ἐγὼ δὲ ἰδοὺ ἐπάγω τὸν κατακλυσμὸν ὕδωρ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, καταφθεῖραι πᾶσαν σάρκα ἐν ᾗ ἐστὶν ἐν οὐτῇ πνεῦμα ζωῆς ὑποκάτω οὐρανοῦ· καὶ ὄσα ἐὰν ᾖ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς τελευτήσει. ¹⁸ But with thee will I establish𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤌𐤕𐤉 my covenant;𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤕𐤉 and thou shalt come𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤕 into𐤀𐤋 the ark,𐤄𐤕𐤁𐤄 thou,𐤀𐤕𐤄 and thy sons,𐤅𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤊 and thy wife,𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤕𐤊 and thy sons'𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤊 wives𐤅𐤍𐤔𐤉 with thee. καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς σέ· εἰσελεύσῃ δὲ εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ ἡ γυνή σου καὶ αἱ γυναῖκες τῶν υἱῶν σου μετὰ σοῦ. ¹⁹ And of every living thing𐤄𐤇𐤉 of all flesh,𐤁𐤔𐤓 two𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 of every sort shalt thou bring𐤕𐤁𐤉𐤀 into the ark,𐤄𐤕𐤁𐤄 to keep them alive𐤋𐤄𐤇𐤉𐤕 with thee; they shall be male𐤆𐤊𐤓 and female.𐤅𐤍𐤒𐤁𐤄 καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἑρπετῶν καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν θηρίων καὶ ἀπὸ πάσης σαρκός, δύο δύο ἀπὸ πάντων εἰσάξεις εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, ἵνα τρέφῃς μετὰ σεαυτοῦ· ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἔσονται. ²⁰ Of fowls𐤌𐤄𐤏𐤅𐤐 after their kind,𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤍𐤄𐤅 and of cattle𐤄𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 after their kind,𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤍𐤄 of every creeping thing𐤓𐤌𐤔 of the earth𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 after his kind,𐤋𐤌𐤉𐤍𐤄𐤅 two𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 of every sort shall come𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 unto thee, to keep them alive.𐤋𐤄𐤇𐤉𐤅𐤕 ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ὀρνέων τῶν πετεινῶν κατὰ γένος καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν κτηνῶν κατὰ γένος καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἑρπετῶν τῶν ἑρπόντων ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς κατὰ γένος αὐτῶν, δύο δύο ἀπὸ πάντων εἰσελεύσονται πρὸς σὲ τρέφεσθαι μετὰ σοῦ, ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ. ²¹ And take𐤒𐤇 thou unto thee of all food𐤌𐤀𐤊𐤋 that is eaten,𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋 and thou shalt gather𐤅𐤀𐤎𐤐𐤕 it to thee; and it shall be for food𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤄 for thee, and for them. σὺ δὲ λήψῃ σεαυτῷ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶνβρωμάτων ἃ ἔδεσθε, καὶ συνάξεις πρὸς σεαυτόν, καὶ ἔσται καὶ ἐκείνοις φαγεῖν. ²² Thus did𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤔 Noah;𐤍𐤇 according to all that God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 commanded𐤑𐤅𐤄 him, so did𐤏𐤔𐤄 𐤎 he. καὶ ἐποίησεν Νῶε πάντα ὅσα ἐνετείλατο αὐτῷ κύριοςὁ θεός, οὕτως ἐποίησεν.
