Chapter 45 ¹ Then Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 could𐤉𐤊𐤋 not refrain𐤋𐤄𐤕𐤀𐤐𐤒 himself before all them that stood𐤄𐤍𐤑𐤁𐤉𐤌 by him; and he cried,𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 Cause𐤄𐤅𐤑𐤉𐤀𐤅 every man𐤀𐤉𐤔 to go out from me. And there stood𐤏𐤌𐤃 no man𐤀𐤉𐤔 with him, while Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 made himself known𐤁𐤄𐤕𐤅𐤃𐤏 unto his brethren.𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 Καὶ οὐκ ἠδύνατο ἸωσὴΦ ἀνέχεσθαι πάντων τῶν παρεστηκότων αὐτῷ, ἀλλ’ εἶπεν Ἐξαποστείλατε πάντας ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ· καὶ οὐ παριστήκει οὐδεὶς ἔτι τῷ ἸωσὴΦ ἡνίκα ἀνεγνωρίζετο ἸωσὴΦ τοῖς ἀδελΦοῖς αὐτοῦ. ² And he wept𐤒𐤋𐤅 𐤁𐤁𐤊𐤉 aloud:𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 and the Egyptians and the house𐤁𐤉𐤕 of Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 heard.𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅 𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏 καὶ ἀφῆκεν φωνὴν μετὰ κλαυθμοῦ· ἤκουσαν δὲ πάντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι, καὶ ἀκουστὸν ἐγένετο εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φαραώ. ³ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 I am Joseph;𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 doth my father𐤀𐤁𐤉 yet live?𐤇𐤉 And his brethren𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 could𐤉𐤊𐤋𐤅 not answer𐤋𐤏𐤍𐤅𐤕 him; for they were troubled𐤍𐤁𐤄𐤋𐤅 at his presence.𐤌𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤅 εἶπεν δὲ ἸωσὴΦ πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ Ἐγώ εἰμι ἸωσὴΦ ὁ ἀδελφὸς ὑμῶν, ὃν ἀπέδοσθε εἰς Αἴγυπτον· ἔτι ὁ πατήρ μου ζῇ ; καὶ οὐκ ἐδύναντο οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ἀποαὐτῷ· κριθῆναι αὐτῷ· ἐταράχθησαν γάρ. ⁴ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 Come near𐤂𐤔𐤅 to me, I pray you. And they came near.𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤔𐤅 And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 I am Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 your brother,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤊𐤌 whom ye sold𐤌𐤊𐤓𐤕𐤌 into Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌𐤄 καὶ εἶπεν Ἐγώ εἰμι ἸωσὴΦ ὁ ἀδελφὸς ὑμῶν, ὃν ἀπέδοσθε εἰς Αἴγυπτον. ⁵ Now therefore be not grieved,𐤕𐤏𐤑𐤁𐤅 nor angry𐤉𐤇𐤓 with yourselves,𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤌 that ye sold𐤌𐤊𐤓𐤕𐤌 me hither: for God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 did send𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤍𐤉 me before you𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤌 to preserve life.𐤋𐤌𐤇𐤉𐤄 νῦν οὑν μὴ λυπεῖσθε, σκληρὸν ὑμῖν φανήτω ὅτι ἀπέδοσθέ με ὧδε· ⁶ For these two years𐤔𐤍𐤕𐤉𐤌 hath the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 been in𐤁𐤒𐤓𐤁 the land:𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 and yet there are five𐤇𐤌𐤔 years,𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 in the which there shall neither𐤀𐤉𐤍 be earing𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤔 nor harvest.𐤅𐤒𐤑𐤉𐤓 εἰς γὰρ ζωὴν ἀπέὁ θεὸς ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν. τοῦτο γὰρ δεύτερον ἔτος λιμὸς ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, κοὶ ἔτι λοιπὰ πέντε ἔτη ἐν οἷς οὐκ ὦσται ἀροτρίασις οὐδὲ ἄμητος· ⁷ And God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 sent𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤍𐤉 me before you𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤌 to preserve𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤌 you a posterity𐤔𐤀𐤓𐤉𐤕 in the earth,𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 and to save your lives𐤅𐤋𐤄𐤇𐤉𐤅𐤕 by a great𐤂𐤃𐤋𐤄 deliverance.𐤋𐤐𐤋𐤉𐤈𐤄 ἀπέστειλεν γάρ με ὁ θεὸς ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν, ὑπολείπεσθαι ὑμὠν κατάλειμμα τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐκθρέψαι ὑμῶν κατάλειψιν μεγάλην. ⁸ So now it was not you that sent𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤕𐤌 me hither, but God:𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 and he hath made𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤉𐤌𐤍𐤉 me a father𐤋𐤀𐤁 to Pharaoh,𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and lord𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤃𐤅𐤍 of all his house,𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤅 and a ruler𐤅𐤌𐤔𐤋 throughout all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 νῦν οὖν οὐχ ὑμεῖς με ἀπεστάλκατε ὧδε, ἀλλ’ ἢ ὁ θεός. καὶ ἐποίησέν με ὡς πατέρα Φαραὼ καὶ κύριον παντὸς τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἄρχοντα πάσης γῆς Αἰγύπτου. ⁹ Haste𐤌𐤄𐤓𐤅 ye, and go up𐤅𐤏𐤋𐤅 to my father,𐤀𐤁𐤉 and say𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕𐤌 unto him, Thus saith𐤀𐤌𐤓 thy son𐤁𐤍𐤊 Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 hath made𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤉 me lord𐤋𐤀𐤃𐤅𐤍 of all Egypt:𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 come down𐤓𐤃𐤄 unto me, tarry𐤕𐤏𐤌𐤃 not: σπεύσαντες ὄν ἀνάβητε πρὸς τὸν πατέρα μου καὶ εἴπατε αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει ὁ υἱός σου ἸωσήΦ Ἐποίησέν με ὁ θεὸς κύριον πάσης γῆς Αἰγύπτου· κατάβηθι οὖν πρὸς μέ, καὶ μὴ μείνῃς. ¹⁰ And thou shalt dwell𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤕 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Goshen,𐤂𐤔𐤍 and thou shalt be near𐤒𐤓𐤅𐤁 unto me, thou, and thy children,𐤅𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤊 and thy children's𐤅𐤁𐤍𐤉 children,𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤊 and thy flocks,𐤅𐤑𐤀𐤍𐤊 and thy herds,𐤅𐤁𐤒𐤓𐤊 and all that thou hast: καὶ κατοικήσεις ἐν γῇ Γέσεμ Ἀραβίας, καὶ ἔσῃ ἐγγύς μου σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ τῶν υἱῶν σου, τὰ πρόβατά σου καὶ αἱ βόες σου καὶ ὅσα σοὶ ἐκεῖ· ¹¹ And there will I nourish𐤅𐤊𐤋𐤊𐤋𐤕𐤉 thee; for yet there are five𐤇𐤌𐤔 years𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 of famine;𐤓𐤏𐤁 lest thou, and thy household,𐤅𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤊 and all that thou hast, come to poverty.𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤔 καὶ ἐκθρέψω σε ἐκσι, ἔτι γὰρ πέντε ἔτη λιμός. ἵνα μὴ ἐκτριβῇς σὺ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ σου καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντά σου. ¹² And, behold, your eyes𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤌 see,𐤓𐤀𐤅𐤕 and the eyes𐤅𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 of my brother𐤀𐤇𐤉 Benjamin,𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍 that it is my mouth𐤐𐤉 that speaketh𐤄𐤌𐤃𐤁𐤓 unto you. ἰδοὺ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν βλέπουσιν καὶ οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ Βενιαμεὶν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ μου ὅτι τὸ στόμα μου τὸ λαλοῦν πρὸς ὑμᾶς. ¹³ And ye shall tell𐤅𐤄𐤂𐤃𐤕𐤌 my father𐤋𐤀𐤁𐤉 of all my glory𐤊𐤁𐤅𐤃𐤉 in Egypt,𐤁𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and of all that ye have seen;𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤕𐤌 and ye shall haste𐤅𐤌𐤄𐤓𐤕𐤌 and bring down𐤅𐤄𐤅𐤓𐤃𐤕𐤌 my father𐤀𐤁𐤉 hither. ἀπαγγείλατε οὑν τῷ πατρί μου πᾶσαν τὴν δόξαν μου τὴν ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ ὅσα ἴδετε, καὶ ταχύ. ναντες καταγάγετε τὸν πατέρα μου ὧδε. ¹⁴ And he fell𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤋 upon his brother𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 Benjamin's𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌𐤍 neck,𐤑𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤉 and wept;𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤊 and Benjamin𐤅𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌𐤍 wept𐤁𐤊𐤄 upon his neck.𐤑𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤉𐤅 καὶ ἐπιπεσὼν ἐπὶ τὸν τράχηλον Βενιαμεὶν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ αὐτοῦ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ’ αὐτῶ, καὶ Βενιαμεὶν ἔκλαυσεν ἐπὶ τῷ τραχήλῳ αὐτοῦ. ¹⁵ Moreover he kissed𐤅𐤉𐤍𐤔𐤒 all his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 and wept𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤊 upon them: and after𐤅𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 that his brethren𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 talked𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤅 with him. καὶ καταφιλήσας πάντας τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ ἔκλαυσεν ἐπ’ αὐτοῖς, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐλάλησαν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτοῦ πρὸς αὐτόν. ¹⁶ And the fame𐤅𐤄𐤒𐤋 thereof was heard𐤍𐤔𐤌𐤏 in Pharaoh's𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 house,𐤁𐤉𐤕 saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Joseph's𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 brethren𐤀𐤇𐤉 are come:𐤁𐤀𐤅 and it pleased𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤈𐤁 𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 well,𐤅𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 and his servants.𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤅 Καὶ διεβοήθη ἡ φωνὴ εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φαραὼ λέγοντες Ἥκασιν οἱ ἀδελφοὶ ἸωσήΦ· ἐχάρη δὲ Φαραὼ καὶ ἡ θεραπεία αὐτοῦ. ¹⁷ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 Say𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto thy brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤊 This do𐤏𐤔𐤅 ye; lade𐤈𐤏𐤍𐤅 your beasts,𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤓𐤊𐤌 and go, get𐤁𐤀𐤅 you unto the land𐤀𐤓𐤑𐤄 of Canaan;𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ πρὸς ἸωσήΦ Εἰπὸν τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς σου τοῦτο ποιήσατε· γεμίσατε τὰ πόρια ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπέλθατε εἰς γῆν Χανάαν, ¹⁸ And take𐤅𐤒𐤇𐤅 your father𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤊𐤌 and your households,𐤁𐤕𐤉𐤊𐤌 and come𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤅 unto me: and I will give𐤅𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤄 you the good𐤈𐤅𐤁 of the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and ye shall eat𐤅𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤅 the fat𐤇𐤋𐤁 of the land.𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 καὶ παραλαβόντες τὸν πατέρα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα ὑμῶν ἥκετε πρὸς μέ· καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν πάντων τῶν ἀγαθῶν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ φάγεσθε τὸν μυελὸν τῆς γῆς. ¹⁹ Now thou art commanded,𐤑𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤄 this do𐤏𐤔𐤅 ye; take𐤒𐤇𐤅 you wagons𐤏𐤂𐤋𐤅𐤕 out of the land𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 for your little ones,𐤋𐤈𐤐𐤊𐤌 and for your wives,𐤅𐤋𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤊𐤌 and bring𐤅𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤕𐤌 your father,𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤊𐤌 and come.𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤕𐤌 σὺ δὲ ἔντειλαι ταῦτα, λαβεῖν αὐτοῖς ἁμάξας ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου τοῖς παιδίοις ὑμῶν καὶ ταῖς γυναιξίν, καὶ ἀναλαβόντες τὸν πατέρα ὑμῶν παραγίνεσθε· ²⁰ Also𐤅𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤊𐤌 regard𐤕𐤇𐤎 not your stuff;𐤊𐤋𐤉𐤊𐤌 for the good𐤈𐤅𐤁 of all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 is yours. καὶ μὴ φείσησθε τοις ὀφθαλμοῖς ὑμῶν τῶν σκευῶν, τὰ γὰρ πάντα ἀγαθὰ Αἰγύπτου ὑμῖν ἔσται. ²¹ And the children𐤁𐤍𐤉 of Israel𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 did𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤅 so: and Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 them wagons,𐤏𐤂𐤋𐤅𐤕 according to the commandment𐤐𐤉 of Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 them provision𐤑𐤃𐤄 for the way.𐤋𐤃𐤓𐤊 ἐποίησαν δὲ οὕτως οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραήλ· ἔδωκεν δὲ ἸωσὴΦ αὐτοῖς ἁμάξας κατὰ τὰ εἰρημένα ὑπὸ Φαραὼ τοῦ βασιλέως, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ἐπισιτισμὸν εἰς τὴν ὁδόν· ²² To all of them he gave𐤍𐤕𐤍 each man𐤋𐤀𐤉𐤔 changes𐤇𐤋𐤐𐤅𐤕 of raiment;𐤔𐤌𐤋𐤕 but to Benjamin𐤅𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌𐤍 he gave𐤍𐤕𐤍 three𐤔𐤋𐤔 hundred𐤌𐤀𐤅𐤕 pieces of silver,𐤊𐤎𐤐 and five𐤅𐤇𐤌𐤔 changes𐤇𐤋𐤐𐤕 of raiment.𐤔𐤌𐤋𐤕 καὶ πᾶσιν ἔδωκεν δισσὰς στολάς, καὶ τῷ Βενιαμεὶν ἔδωκεν τριακοσίους χρυσοῦς καὶ πέντε ἀλλασσούσας στολάς· ²³ And to his father𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 he sent𐤔𐤋𐤇 after this𐤊𐤆𐤀𐤕 manner; ten𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 asses𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤕 laden𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤉𐤌 with the good things𐤌𐤈𐤅𐤁 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and ten𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤓 she asses𐤇𐤌𐤓𐤉𐤌 laden𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤕 with corn𐤁𐤓 and bread𐤅𐤋𐤇𐤌 and meat𐤅𐤌𐤆𐤅𐤍 for his father𐤋𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 by the way.𐤋𐤃𐤓𐤊 καὶ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ ἀπέστειλεν κατὰ τὰ αὐτά, καὶ δέκα ὄνους αἴροντας ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἀγαθῶν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ δέκα ἡμιόνους αἰρούσας ἄρτους τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ εἰς ὁδόν. ²⁴ So he sent𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇 his brethren𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 away, and they departed: and he said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto them, See that ye fall not out𐤕𐤓𐤂𐤆𐤅 by the way.𐤁𐤃𐤓𐤊 nἐξαπέστειλεν δὲ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν· καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς Μὴ ὀργίζεσθε ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ. ²⁵ And they went up𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤋𐤅 out of Egypt,𐤌𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 into the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 unto Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 their father,𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤄𐤌 καὶ ἀνέβησαν ἐξ Αἰγύπτου, καὶ ἦλθον εἰς γῆν Χανάαν πρὸς Ἰακὼβ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν, ²⁶ And told𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤃𐤅 him, saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 is yet alive,𐤇𐤉 and he is governor𐤌𐤔𐤋 over all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 And Jacob's heart𐤋𐤁𐤅 fainted,𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤂 for he believed𐤄𐤀𐤌𐤉𐤍 them not. καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτῷ λέγοντες ὅτι Ὁ υἱός σου ἸωσὴΦ ζῇ καὶ οὗτος ἄρχει πάσης τῆς γῆς Αἰγύπτου. καὶ ἐξέστη ἡ διάνοια Ἰακώβ, οὐ γὰρ ἐπίστευσεν αὐτοῖς. ²⁷ And they told𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤅 him all the words𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉 of Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 which he had said𐤃𐤁𐤓 unto them: and when he saw𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀 the wagons𐤄𐤏𐤂𐤋𐤅𐤕 which Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 had sent𐤔𐤋𐤇 to carry𐤋𐤔𐤀𐤕 him, the spirit𐤓𐤅𐤇 of Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 their father𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤄𐤌 revived:𐤅𐤕𐤇𐤉 ἐλάλησαν δὲ αὐτῷ πάντα τὰ ῥηθέντα ὑπὸ ἸωσήΦ, ὅσα εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ἰδὼν δὲ τὰς ἃς ἀπέστειλεν ἸωσὴΦ ὥστε ἀναλαβεῖν αὐτόν, ἀνεζωπύρησεν τὸ μὰ Ἰακὼβ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν. εἶπεν δὲ Ἰσραήλ Μέγα μοί ἐστιν εἰ ἔτι ὁ υἱός μου ἸωσὴΦ ζῇ· πορευθεὶς ὄψομαι αὐτὸν πρὸ τοῦ ἀποθανεῖν με. ²⁸ And Israel𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 It is enough;𐤓𐤁 Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 my son𐤁𐤍𐤉 is yet alive:𐤇𐤉 I will go and see him𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤀𐤍𐤅 before I die.𐤀𐤌𐤅𐤕
