Chapter 41 ¹ And it came to pass at the end𐤌𐤒𐤑 of two full𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 years,𐤔𐤍𐤕𐤉𐤌 that Pharaoh𐤅𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 dreamed:𐤇𐤋𐤌 and, behold, he stood𐤏𐤌𐤃 by the river.𐤄𐤉𐤀𐤓 Ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ δύο ἔτη ἡμερῶν Φαραὼ ἴδεν ἐνύπνιον. ᾤετο i ἑστάναι ἐπὶ τοῦ ποταμοῦ, ² And, behold, there came up𐤏𐤋𐤕 out of the river𐤄𐤉𐤀𐤓 seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 well𐤉𐤐𐤅𐤕 favoured𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 kine𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 and fatfleshed;𐤅𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤀𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤓 and they fed𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤄 in a meadow.𐤁𐤀𐤇𐤅 καὶ ἰδοὺ ὥσπερ ἐκ τοῦ ποταμοῦ ἀνέβαινον ἑπτὰ βόες καλαὶ τῷ εἴδει καὶ ἐκλεκταὶ ταῖς σαρξίν, καἰ ἐβόσκοντο ἐν τῷ ἄχει· ³ And, behold, seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 other𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤅𐤕 kine𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 came up𐤏𐤋𐤅𐤕 after them𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤍 out of the river,𐤄𐤉𐤀𐤓 ill𐤓𐤏𐤅𐤕 favoured𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 and leanfleshed;𐤅𐤃𐤒𐤅𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤓 and stood𐤅𐤕𐤏𐤌𐤃𐤍𐤄 by𐤀𐤑𐤋 the other kine𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 upon the brink𐤔𐤐𐤕 of the river.𐤄𐤉𐤀𐤓 ἂλλαι δὲ ἑπτὰ βόες ἀνέβαινον μετὰ ταύτας ἐκ τοῦ ποταμοῦ, αἰσχραὶ τῷ εἴδει καὶ λεπταὶ ταῖς σαρξίν, Καὶ ἐνέμοντο αἱ βόες παρὰ τὸ χεῖλος τοῦ ποταμοῦ ἐν τῷ ἄχει· ⁴ And the ill𐤓𐤏𐤅𐤕 favoured𐤄𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 and leanfleshed𐤅𐤃𐤒𐤕 𐤄𐤁𐤔𐤓 kine𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 did eat up𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤍𐤄 the seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 well𐤉𐤐𐤕 favoured𐤄𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 and fat𐤅𐤄𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤀𐤕 kine.𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 So Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 awoke.𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤒𐤑 καὶ κατέφαγον αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ αἰσχραὶ καὶ λεπταὶ ταῖς σαρξὶν τὰς ἑπτὰ βόας τὰς καλὰς τῷ εἴδει καὶ τὰς ἐκλεκτάς. ἠγέρθη δὲ Φαραώ, ⁵ And he slept𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤔𐤍 and dreamed𐤅𐤉𐤇𐤋𐤌 the second time:𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤕 and, behold, seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 ears of corn𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 came up𐤏𐤋𐤅𐤕 upon one𐤀𐤇𐤃 stalk,𐤁𐤒𐤍𐤄 rank𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤀𐤅𐤕 and good.𐤅𐤈𐤁𐤅𐤕 καὶ ἐνυπνιάσθη τὸ δεύτερον· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἑπτὰ στάχυες ἀνέβαινον ἐν πυθμένι ἑνί, ἐκλεκτοὶ καὶ καλοί· ⁶ And, behold, seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 thin𐤃𐤒𐤅𐤕 ears𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 and blasted𐤅𐤔𐤃𐤅𐤐𐤕 with the east wind𐤒𐤃𐤉𐤌 sprung up𐤑𐤌𐤇𐤅𐤕 after them.𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤍 ἂλλοι δὲ ἑπτὰ στάχυες λεπτοὶ καὶ καὶἀνεμόΦοροι ἀνεφύοντο μετ’ αὐτούς· ⁷ And the seven thin𐤄𐤃𐤒𐤅𐤕 ears𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 devoured𐤅𐤕𐤁𐤋𐤏𐤍𐤄 the seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 rank𐤄𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤀𐤅𐤕 and full𐤅𐤄𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤅𐤕 ears.𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 awoke,𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤒𐤑 and, behold, it was a dream.𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 καὶ κατέπιον οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόΦΘοροι τοὺς ἑπτὰ στάχυας τοὺς ἐκλεκτοὺς καὶ τοὺς πλήρεις. ἠγέρθη δὲ Φαραώ. καὶ ἦν ἐνύπνιον. ⁸ And it came to pass in the morning𐤁𐤁𐤒𐤓 that his spirit𐤓𐤅𐤇𐤅 was troubled;𐤅𐤕𐤐𐤏𐤌 and he sent𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇 and called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 for all the magicians𐤇𐤓𐤈𐤌𐤉 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and all the wise men𐤇𐤊𐤌𐤉𐤄 thereof: and Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 told𐤅𐤉𐤎𐤐𐤓 them his dream;𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤅 but there was none that could interpret𐤐𐤅𐤕𐤓 them unto Pharaoh.𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 ἐγένετο δὲ πρωὶ καὶ ἐταράχθη ἡ ψυχὴ αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἀποστείλας ἐκάλεσεν ἐκάλεσεν πάντας τοὺς ἐξηγητὰς Αἰγύπτου καὶ πάντας τοὺς σοφοὺς αὐτῆς, καὶ διηγήσατο αὐτοῖς Φαραὼ τὸ ἐνύπνιον· καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἀπαγγέλλων αὐτὸ τῷ Φαραώ. ⁹ Then spake𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 the chief𐤔𐤓 butler unto Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 I do remember𐤌𐤆𐤊𐤉𐤓 my faults𐤇𐤈𐤀𐤉 this day:𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 καὶ ἐλάλησεν ὁ ἀρχιοινοχόος πρὸς Φαραὼ λέγων τὴν ἁμαρτίαν μου ἀναμιμνήσκω σήμερον. ¹⁰ Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 was wroth𐤒𐤑𐤐 with his servants,𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤅 and put𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 me in ward𐤁𐤌𐤔𐤌𐤓 in the captain𐤔𐤓 of the guard's𐤄𐤈𐤁𐤇𐤉𐤌 house,𐤁𐤉𐤕 both me and the chief𐤔𐤓 baker:𐤄𐤀𐤐𐤉𐤌 Φαραὼ ὠργίσθη τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔθετο ἡμᾶς ἐν φυλακῆ ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ ἀρχιδεσμοφύλακος, ἐμέ τε καὶ τὸν ἀρχισιτοποιόν· ¹¹ And we dreamed𐤅𐤍𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤄 a dream𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 in one𐤀𐤇𐤃 night,𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤄 I and he; we dreamed𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤍𐤅 each man𐤀𐤉𐤔 according to the interpretation𐤊𐤐𐤕𐤓𐤅𐤍 of his dream.𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤅 καὶ ἴδομεν ἐνύπνιον ἐν νυκτὶ μιᾷ, ἐγὼ καὶ αὐτός· ἕκαστος κατὰ τὸ αὐτοῦ ἐνύπνιον ἴδομεν. ¹² And there was there with us a young man,𐤍𐤏𐤓 an Hebrew,𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤉 servant𐤏𐤁𐤃 to the captain𐤋𐤔𐤓 of the guard;𐤄𐤈𐤁𐤇𐤉𐤌 and we told𐤅𐤍𐤎𐤐𐤓 him, and he interpreted𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤕𐤓 to us our dreams;𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅 to each man𐤀𐤉𐤔 according to his dream𐤊𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤅 he did interpret.𐤐𐤕𐤓 ἦν δὲ ἐκεῖ μεθ’ ἡμῶν νεανίσκος παῖς Ἐβραῖος τοῦ ἀρχιμαγείρου, καὶ διηγησάμεθα αὐτῷ, καὶ συνέκρινεν ἡμῖν. ¹³ And it came to pass, as he interpreted𐤐𐤕𐤓 to us, so it was; me he restored𐤄𐤔𐤉𐤁 unto mine office,𐤊𐤍𐤉 and him he hanged.𐤕𐤋𐤄 ἐγενήθη δὲ καθὼς συνέκρινεν ἡμῖν, οὕτως καὶ συνέβη, ἐμέ τε ἀποκατασταθῆναι ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχήν μου, ἐκεῖνον δὲ κρεμασθῆναι. ¹⁴ Then Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 sent𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇 and called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 and they brought him hastily𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤉𐤑𐤄𐤅 out of the dungeon:𐤄𐤁𐤅𐤓 and he shaved𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤋𐤇 himself, and changed𐤅𐤉𐤇𐤋𐤐 his raiment,𐤔𐤌𐤋𐤕𐤉𐤅 and came in𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 unto Pharaoh.𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 Ἀποστείλας δὲ Φαραὼ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν Ἰωσήφ, καὶ ἐξήγαγεν αὐτὸν ἐκ τοῦ ὀχυρώματος. ·καὶ ἐξύρησαν αὐτὸν καὶ ἤλλαξαν τὴν στολὴν αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς ¹⁵ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 I have dreamed𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤕𐤉 a dream,𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 and there is none that can interpret𐤅𐤐𐤕𐤓 it: and I have heard𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤕𐤉 say𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 of thee, that thou canst understand𐤕𐤔𐤌𐤏 a dream𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 to interpret𐤋𐤐𐤕𐤓 it. εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ Ἰωσήφ Ἐνύπνιον ἑώρακα, καὶ ὁ συγκρίνων αὐτὸ οὐκ ἒστιν. ἐγὼ δὲ ἀκήκοα περὶ σοῦ λεγόντων, ἀκούσαντά σε ἐνύπνια συγκρῖναι αὐτά. ¹⁶ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 answered𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤍 Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 It is not in me:𐤁𐤋𐤏𐤃𐤉 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 shall give𐤉𐤏𐤍𐤄 Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 an answer of peace.𐤔𐤋𐤅𐤌 ἀποκριθείς δὲ Ἰωσὴφ τῷ Φαραὼ εἶπεν Ἄνευ τοῦ θεοῦ οὐκ ἀποκριθήσεται τὸ σωτήριον Φαραώ. ¹⁷ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤃𐤁𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 In my dream,𐤁𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤉 behold, I stood𐤏𐤌𐤃 upon the bank𐤔𐤐𐤕 of the river:𐤄𐤉𐤀𐤓 ἐλάλησεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ Ἰωσὴφ λέγων Ἐν τῷ ὕπνῳ μου ᾤμην ἑστάναι ἐπὶ τὸ χεῖλος τοῦ ποταμοῦ· ¹⁸ And, behold, there came up𐤏𐤋𐤕 out of the river𐤄𐤉𐤀𐤓 seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 kine,𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 fatfleshed𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤀𐤅𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤓 and well𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤕 favoured;𐤕𐤀𐤓 and they fed𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤄 in a meadow:𐤁𐤀𐤇𐤅 καὶ ὢσπερ ἐκ τοῦ ποταμοῦ ἀνέβαινον ἑπτὰ βόες καλαὶ τῷ εἴδει καὶ ἐκλεκταὶ ταῖς σαρξίν, καὶ ἐνέμοντο ἐν τῷ ἄχει· ¹⁹ And, behold, seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 other𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤅𐤕 kine𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 came up𐤏𐤋𐤅𐤕 after them,𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤍 poor𐤃𐤋𐤅𐤕 and very𐤌𐤀𐤃 ill𐤅𐤓𐤏𐤅𐤕 favoured𐤕𐤀𐤓 and leanfleshed,𐤅𐤓𐤒𐤅𐤕 𐤁𐤔𐤓 such as I never𐤋𐤀 saw𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤕𐤉 in all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 for badness:𐤋𐤓𐤏 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἑπτὰ βόες ἕτεραι ἀνέβαινον ὀπίσω αὐτῶν ἐκ τοῦ ποταμοῦ, πονηραὶ καὶ αἰσχραὶ τῷ εἴδει καὶ λεπταὶ ταῖς καὶ ἐνέμοντο ἐν τῷ ἄχει· οἵας οὐκ εἶδον τοιαύτας ἐν ὅλῃ αἰσχροτέρας· ²⁰ And the lean𐤄𐤓𐤒𐤅𐤕 and the ill favoured𐤅𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤅𐤕 kine𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 did eat up𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤍𐤄 the first𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤔𐤍𐤅𐤕 seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 fat𐤄𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤀𐤕 kine:𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 καὶ κατέφαγον αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ αἰσχραὶ καὶ λεπταὶ τὰς ἑπτὰ βόας τὰς πρώτας τὰς καλὰς καὶ ἐκλεκτάς, ²¹ And when they had eaten them up,𐤅𐤕𐤁𐤀𐤍𐤄 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤄 it could not be known𐤍𐤅𐤃𐤏 that they had eaten them;𐤁𐤀𐤅 𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤍𐤄 but they were still𐤅𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤉𐤄𐤍 ill favoured,𐤓𐤏 as at the beginning.𐤁𐤕𐤇𐤋𐤄 So I awoke.𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤒𐤑 καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὰς κοιλίας αὐτῶν· καὶ οὐ διάδηλοι ἐγένοντο ὅτι εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὰς κοιλίας αὐτῶν, καὶ αἱ ὄψεις αὐτῶν αἰσχραὶ καθὰ καὶ τὴν ἀρχήν. ἐξεγερθεὶς δὲ ἐκοιμήθην. ²² And I saw𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤀 in my dream,𐤁𐤇𐤋𐤌𐤉 and, behold, seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 ears𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 came up𐤏𐤋𐤕 in one𐤀𐤇𐤃 stalk,𐤁𐤒𐤍𐤄 full𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤕 and good:𐤅𐤈𐤁𐤅𐤕 καὶ ἴδον πάλιν ἐν τῷ ὕπνῳ μου, καὶ ὥσπερ ἑπτὰ στάχυες ἀνέβαινον ἐν πυθμένι ἑνὶ πλήρεις καὶ καλοί· ²³ And, behold, seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 ears,𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 withered,𐤑𐤍𐤌𐤅𐤕 thin,𐤃𐤒𐤅𐤕 and blasted𐤔𐤃𐤐𐤅𐤕 with the east wind,𐤒𐤃𐤉𐤌 sprung up𐤑𐤌𐤇𐤅𐤕 after them:𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤌 ἂλλοι δὲ ἑπτὰ στάχυες λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόΦθοροι ἀνεφύοντο ἐχόμενοι αὐτῶν· ²⁴ And the thin𐤄𐤃𐤒𐤕 ears𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 devoured𐤅𐤕𐤁𐤋𐤏𐤍 the seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 good𐤄𐤈𐤁𐤅𐤕 ears:𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 and I told𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓 this unto the magicians;𐤄𐤇𐤓𐤈𐤌𐤉𐤌 but there was none that could declare𐤌𐤂𐤉𐤃 it to me. καὶ κατέπιον οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόΦθοροι τοὺς ἑπτὰ στάχυας τοὺς καλοὺς καὶ τοὺς πλήρεις. εἶπα οὖν τοῖς καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἀπαγγέλλων μοι. ²⁵ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 The dream𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 of Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 is one:𐤀𐤇𐤃 God𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 hath shewed𐤄𐤂𐤉𐤃 Pharaoh𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 what he is about to do.𐤏𐤔𐤄 καὶ εἶπεν ἸωσὴΦ τῷ Τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραὼ ἕν ἐστιν· ὅσα ὁ θεὸς ποιεῖ, ἔδειξεν τῷ Φαραώ. ²⁶ The seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 good𐤄𐤈𐤁𐤕 kine𐤐𐤓𐤕 are seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years;𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 and the seven𐤅𐤔𐤁𐤏 good𐤄𐤈𐤁𐤕 ears𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 are seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years:𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 the dream𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 is one.𐤀𐤇𐤃 αἰ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ καλαὶ ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἐστίν, καὶ οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ καλοὶ ἑπτὰ ἣ ἐστίν· τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραὼ ἕν ἐστιν. ²⁷ And the seven𐤅𐤔𐤁𐤏 thin𐤄𐤓𐤒𐤅𐤕 and ill favoured𐤅𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤕 kine𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤅𐤕 that came up𐤄𐤏𐤋𐤕 after them𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤍 are seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years;𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 and the seven𐤅𐤔𐤁𐤏 empty𐤄𐤓𐤒𐤅𐤕 ears𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤋𐤉𐤌 blasted𐤔𐤃𐤐𐤅𐤕 with the east wind𐤄𐤒𐤃𐤉𐤌 shall be seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of famine.𐤓𐤏𐤁 καὶ αἱ ἑπτὰ βόες αἱ λεπταὶ αἱ ἀναβαίνουσαι ὀπίσω αὐτῶν ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἐστίν, καὶ οἱ ἑπτὰ στάχυες οἱ λεπτοὶ καὶ ἀνεμόφθοροι ἔσονται ἑπτὰ ἔτη λιμοῦ. ²⁸ This is the thing𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 which I have spoken𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤕𐤉 unto Pharaoh:𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 What God𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 is about to do𐤏𐤔𐤄 he sheweth𐤄𐤓𐤀𐤄 unto Pharaoh.𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 τὸ δὲ ῥῆμα ὃ εἴρηκα Φαραώ· ὃσα ὁ θεὸς ποιεῖ ἔδειξεν τῷ Φαραώ. ²⁹ Behold, there come𐤁𐤀𐤅𐤕 seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 of great𐤂𐤃𐤅𐤋 plenty𐤔𐤁𐤏 throughout all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt:𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 ἰδοὺ ἑπτὰ ἔτη ἔρχεται εὐθηνία πολλὴ ἐν πάσῃ γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ· ³⁰ And there shall arise𐤅𐤒𐤌𐤅 after them𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤍 seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of famine;𐤓𐤏𐤁 and all the plenty𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤏 shall be forgotten𐤅𐤍𐤔𐤊𐤇 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt;𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 shall consume𐤅𐤊𐤋𐤄 the land;𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 ἣξει δὲ ἑπτὰ ἔτη λιμοῦ μετὰ ταῦτα, καὶ ἐπιλησθήσονται τῆς πλησμονῆς ἐν ὃλῃ τῇ γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, καὶ ἀναλώσει ὁ λιμὸς τὴν γῆν· ³¹ And the plenty𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤏 shall not be known𐤉𐤅𐤃𐤏 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 by reason𐤌𐤐𐤍𐤉 of that famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 following;𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 𐤊𐤍 for it shall be very𐤌𐤀𐤃 grievous.𐤊𐤁𐤃 κῚ οὐκ ἡ εὐθηνία ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀπὸ τοῦ λιμοῦ τοῦ μετὰ ταῦτα, ἰσχυρὸς γὰρ ἔσται σφόδρα. ³² And for that the dream𐤄𐤇𐤋𐤅𐤌 was doubled𐤄𐤔𐤍𐤅𐤕 unto Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 twice;𐤐𐤏𐤌𐤉𐤌 it is because the thing𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 is established𐤍𐤊𐤅𐤍 by𐤌𐤏𐤌 God,𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 and God𐤄𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 will shortly𐤅𐤌𐤌𐤄𐤓 bring it to pass.𐤋𐤏𐤔𐤕𐤅 περὶ δὲ τοῦ δευτερῶσαι τὸ ἐνύπνιον Φαραὼ δίς, ὅτι ἀληθὲς ἱστᾶι τὸ ῥῆμα τὸ παρὰ τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ταχυνεῖ ὁ θεὸς τοῦ ποιῆσαι αὐτό. ³³ Now therefore let Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 look out𐤉𐤓𐤀 a man𐤀𐤉𐤔 discreet𐤍𐤁𐤅𐤍 and wise,𐤅𐤇𐤊𐤌 and set𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤉𐤕𐤄𐤅 him over the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 νῦν οὖν σκέψαι ἄνθρωπον φρό· νιμον καὶ συνετόν, καὶ κατάστησον αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς Αἰγύπτου. ³⁴ Let Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 do𐤉𐤏𐤔𐤄 this, and let him appoint𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤒𐤃 officers𐤐𐤒𐤃𐤉𐤌 over the land,𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 and take up the fifth part𐤅𐤇𐤌𐤔 of the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 in the seven𐤁𐤔𐤁𐤏 plenteous𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤏 years.𐤔𐤍𐤉 καὶ ποιησάτω Φαραὼ καὶ καταστησάτω τοπάρχας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ ἀποπεμπτωσάτωσαν πάντα τὰ γενήματα τῆς γῆς Αἰγύπτου τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐτῶν τῆς εὐθηνίας, ³⁵ And let them gather𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤁𐤑𐤅 all the food𐤀𐤊𐤋 of those good𐤄𐤈𐤁𐤕 years𐤄𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 that come,𐤄𐤁𐤀𐤕 and lay up𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤁𐤓𐤅 corn𐤁𐤓 under the hand𐤉𐤃 of Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and let them keep𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤓𐤅 food𐤀𐤊𐤋 in the cities.𐤁𐤏𐤓𐤉𐤌 καὶ συναγαγ‘́τωσαν πάντα τὰ βρώματα τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐτῶν τῶν ἐρχομένων τῶν καλῶν τούτων· καὶ συναχθήτω ὁ σῖτος ὑπὸ χεῖρα Φαραώ, βρώματα ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν συναχθήτω. ³⁶ And that food𐤄𐤀𐤊𐤋 shall be for store𐤋𐤐𐤒𐤃𐤅𐤍 to the land𐤋𐤀𐤓𐤑 against the seven𐤋𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of famine,𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 which shall be in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt;𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 that the land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 perish𐤕𐤊𐤓𐤕 not through the famine.𐤁𐤓𐤏𐤁 καὶ ἔσται τὰ βρώματα πεφυλαγμένα τῆ γῇ εἰς τὰ ἑπτὰ ἔτη τοῦ λιμοῦ ἃ ἔσονται ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ καὶ οὐκ ἐκτριβήσεται ἡ γῆ ἐν τῷ λιμῷ. ³⁷ And the thing𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 was good𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤈𐤁 in the eyes𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 of Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and in the eyes𐤅𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 of all his servants.𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤅 Ἢρεσεν δὲ τὰ ῥήματα ἐναντίον Φαραὼ καὶ ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν παίδων αὐτοῦ· ³⁸ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto his servants,𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤅 Can we find𐤄𐤍𐤌𐤑𐤀 such a one as this𐤊𐤆𐤄 is, a man𐤀𐤉𐤔 in whom𐤀𐤔𐤓 the Spirit𐤓𐤅𐤇 of God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 is? καὶ εἶπεν Φαραὼ πᾶσιν τοῖς παισὶν αὐτοῦ Μὴ εὑρήσομεν ἄνθρωπον τοιοῦτον, ὃς ὦι πνεῦμα θεοῦ ἐν αὐτῶ ; ³⁹ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 Forasmuch𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 as God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 hath shewed𐤄𐤅𐤃𐤉𐤏 thee all this, there is none so discreet𐤍𐤁𐤅𐤍 and wise𐤅𐤇𐤊𐤌 as thou art: εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ Ἰωσήφ Ἐπειδὴ ἔδειξεν ὁ θεός σοι πάντα ταῦτα, οὐκ ἔστιν ἄνθρωπος φρονιμώτερός σου καὶ συνετώτερος. ⁴⁰ Thou shalt be𐤕𐤄𐤉𐤄 over my house,𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤉 and according unto thy word𐤐𐤉𐤊 shall all my people𐤏𐤌𐤉 be ruled:𐤉𐤔𐤒 only in the throne𐤄𐤊𐤎𐤀 will I be greater𐤀𐤂𐤃𐤋 than thou. σὺ ἔσῃ ἐπὶ τῶ οἴκῳ μου, καὶ ἐπὶ τῷ στόματί σου ὑπακούσεται πᾶς ὁ λαός μου· πλὴν τὸν θρόνον ὑπερέξω σου ἐγώ. ⁴¹ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 See,𐤓𐤀𐤄 I have set𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤉 thee over all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ ἸςσήΦ ἰδοὺ καθίστημί σε σήμερον ἐπὶ πάσης γῆς Αἰγύπτου. ⁴² And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 took off𐤅𐤉𐤎𐤓 his ring𐤈𐤁𐤏𐤕𐤅 from his hand,𐤉𐤃𐤅 and put𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 it upon Joseph's𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 hand,𐤉𐤃 and arrayed𐤅𐤉𐤋𐤁𐤔 him in vestures𐤁𐤂𐤃𐤉 of fine linen,𐤔𐤔 and put𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌 a gold𐤄𐤆𐤄𐤁 chain𐤓𐤁𐤃 about his neck;𐤑𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤅 καἰ D περιελόμενος Φαραὼ τὸν δακτύλιον ἀπὸ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτοῦ περιέθηκεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὴν χεῖρα ἸωσήΦ, καὶ ἐνέδυσεν αὐτὸν στολὴν βυσ σίνην, καὶ περιέθηκεν κλοιὸν χρυσοῦν περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ· ⁴³ And he made him to ride𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤊𐤁 in the second𐤄𐤌𐤔𐤍𐤄 chariot𐤁𐤌𐤓𐤊𐤁𐤕 which he had; and they cried𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀𐤅 before him,𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤅 Bow the knee:𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤊 and he made𐤅𐤍𐤕𐤅𐤍 him ruler over all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 καὶ ἀνεβίβασεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ ἅρμα τὸ δεύτερον τῶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐκήρυξεν ἔμπροσθεν αὐτοῦ κήρυξ. καὶ κατέστησεν αὐτὸν ἐφ’ ὅλης τῆς γῆς Αἰγύπτου. ⁴⁴ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 I am Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and without𐤅𐤁𐤋𐤏𐤃𐤉𐤊 thee shall no man𐤀𐤉𐤔 lift up𐤉𐤓𐤉𐤌 his hand𐤉𐤃𐤅 or foot𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤅 in all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ Ἰωσήφ Ἐγὼ Φαραώ· ἄνευ σοῦ οὐκ ἐξαρεῖ οὐθεὶς τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ πάσῃ γῇ Αἰγύπτου. ⁴⁵ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 Joseph's𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 name𐤔𐤌 Zaphnath–paaneah;𐤑𐤐𐤍𐤕 and he gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 him to wife𐤋𐤀𐤔𐤄 Asenath𐤀𐤎𐤍𐤕 the daughter𐤁𐤕 of Poti–pherah𐤐𐤅𐤈𐤉 priest𐤊𐤄𐤍 of On.𐤀𐤍 And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 went out𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤀 over all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 καἰ Φαραὼ τὸ ὄνομα Ἰωσὴφ ψουθομΦανήχ. καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ τὴν θυγατέρα ΠετρεΦῆ ἱερέως Ἡλίου πόλεως αὐτῷ εἰς γυναῖκα. ⁴⁶ And Joseph𐤅𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 was thirty𐤔𐤋𐤔𐤉𐤌 years𐤔𐤍𐤄 old𐤁𐤍 when he stood𐤁𐤏𐤌𐤃𐤅 before𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 went out𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤀 from the presence𐤌𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 of Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and went throughout𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤁𐤓 all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 Ἰωσὴφ δὲ ἦν ἐτῶν τριάκοντα ὅτε ἒστη ἐναντίον Φαραὼ βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου. ἐξῆλθεν δὲ Ἰωσὴφ ἐκ προσώπου Φαραώ, καὶ πᾶσαν γῆν Αἰγύπτου. ⁴⁷ And in the seven𐤁𐤔𐤁𐤏 plenteous𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉 the earth𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 brought forth𐤅𐤕𐤏𐤔 by handfuls.𐤋𐤒𐤌𐤑𐤉𐤌 καὶ ἐποίησεν ἢ γῆ ἐν τοῖς ἑπτὰ ἐπτὰ τῆς εὐθηνίας δράγματα. ⁴⁸ And he gathered up𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤁𐤑 all the food𐤀𐤊𐤋 of the seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years,𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 which were in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and laid up𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 the food𐤀𐤊𐤋 in the cities:𐤁𐤏𐤓𐤉𐤌 the food𐤀𐤊𐤋 of the field,𐤔𐤃𐤄 which was round about𐤎𐤁𐤉𐤁𐤕𐤉𐤄 every city,𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤓 laid he up𐤍𐤕𐤍 in the same.𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤊𐤄 καὶ συνήγαγεν πόντα τὰ βρώματα τῶν ἑπτὰ ἐτῶν ἐν οἶς ἢh ἡ εὐθηνία ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου, καὶ ἔθηκεν τὰ βρώματα ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν. βρώματα τῶν πεδίων τῆς πόλεως πόλεως κύκλῳ αὐτῆς *Ων ἒθηκεν ἐν αὐτῇ. ⁴⁹ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 gathered𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤁𐤓 corn𐤁𐤓 as the sand𐤊𐤇𐤅𐤋 of the sea,𐤄𐤉𐤌 very𐤌𐤀𐤃 much,𐤄𐤓𐤁𐤄 until he left𐤇𐤃𐤋 numbering;𐤋𐤎𐤐𐤓 for it was without𐤀𐤉𐤍 number.𐤌𐤎𐤐𐤓 καὶ συνήγηεν ἸωσὴΦ σῖτον ὡσεὶ τὴν ἄμμον τῆς θαλάσσης πολὺ σφόδρα, ἕως οὐκ ἠδύνατο ἀριθμῆσαι· οὐ γὰρ ἢν ἀριθμός. ⁵⁰ And unto Joseph𐤅𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 were born𐤉𐤋𐤃 two𐤔𐤍𐤉 sons𐤁𐤍𐤉𐤌 before the years𐤔𐤍𐤕 of famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 came,𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤀 which Asenath𐤀𐤎𐤍𐤕 the daughter𐤁𐤕 of Poti–pherah𐤐𐤅𐤈𐤉 priest𐤊𐤄𐤍 of On𐤀𐤅𐤍 bare𐤉𐤋𐤃𐤄 unto him. τῷ δὲ ἸωςὴΦ ἐγένοντο υἱοὶ δύο πρὸ τοῦ ἐλθεῖν τὰ ἑπτὰ err; τοῦ λιμοῦ, οὓς ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ Ἀσεννὲθ θυγάτηρ ΙΙετρεΦῆ ἱερέως Ἡλίου ΙΙόλεως. ⁵¹ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 the name𐤔𐤌 of the firstborn𐤄𐤁𐤊𐤅𐤓 Manasseh:𐤌𐤍𐤔𐤄 For God,𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 said he, hath made me forget𐤍𐤔𐤍𐤉 all my toil,𐤏𐤌𐤋𐤉 and all my father's𐤀𐤁𐤉 house.𐤁𐤉𐤕 ἐκάλεσεν δὲ ἸωσὴΦ τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ πρωτοτόκου Μαννασσὴ λέγων Ὃτι ἐπιλαθέσθαι με ἐποίησεν ὁ θεὸς πάντων τῶν πόνων μου καὶ πόντων τῶν τοῦ πατρός μου· ⁵² And the name𐤔𐤌 of the second𐤄𐤔𐤍𐤉 called𐤒𐤓𐤀 he Ephraim:𐤀𐤐𐤓𐤉𐤌 For God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉𐤌 hath caused me to be fruitful𐤄𐤐𐤓𐤍𐤉 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of my affliction.𐤏𐤍𐤉𐤉 τὸ δὲ ὄνομα τοῦ δεῦ. τέρου ἐκάλεσεν ἘΦράιἲμ, Ὃτι ὕψωσέν με ὁ θεὸς ἐν γῇ ταπεινώσεως μου. ⁵³ And the seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of plenteousness,𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤏 that was in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 were ended.𐤅𐤕𐤊𐤋𐤉𐤍𐤄 ΙΙαρῆλθον δὲ τὰ ἑπτὰ ἔτη τῆς εὐθηνίας ἃ ἐγένετο ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, ⁵⁴ And the seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of dearth𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 began𐤅𐤕𐤇𐤋𐤉𐤍𐤄 to come,𐤋𐤁𐤅𐤀 according as Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 had said:𐤀𐤌𐤓 and the dearth𐤓𐤏𐤁 was in all lands;𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑𐤅𐤕 but in all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 there was bread.𐤋𐤇𐤌 καὶ ἤρξαντο τὰ ἑπτὰ ἴτη τοῦ λιμοῦ ἔρχεσθαι, καθὰ εἶπεν καὶ ἐγένετο λιμὸς ἐν πόσῃ τῇ γῇ· ἐν δὲ πάσῃ γῇ Αἰγύπτου οὐκ ἦσαν ἂρτοι. ⁵⁵ And when all the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 was famished,𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤏𐤁 the people𐤄𐤏𐤌 cried𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤏𐤒 to Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 for bread:𐤋𐤋𐤇𐤌 and Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph;𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 what he saith𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 to you, do.𐤕𐤏𐤔𐤅 καὶ ἐπείνασεν πᾶσα ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου, ἐκέκραξεν δὲ πᾶς ὁ λαὸς πρὸς Φαραὼ περὶ ἄρτων· εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ πᾶσι τοῖς Αἰγυ πτίοις ΙΙορεύεσθε πρὸς ἸωσήΦ, καὶ ὃ ἐὰν εἲπη ὑμῖν ποιήσατε. ⁵⁶ And the famine𐤅𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 was over all the face𐤐𐤍𐤉 of the earth:𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 opened𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤕𐤇 all the storehouses, and sold𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤓 unto the Egyptians;𐤋𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 waxed sore𐤅𐤉𐤇𐤆𐤒 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt.𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 καὶ ὁ λιμὸς ἦν ἐπὶ προσώπου πόσης τῆς γῆς· ἀνέῳξεν δὲ ἸωσἠΦ πάντας τοὺς σιτοβολῶνας, καὶ ἐπώλει πᾶσι τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις. ⁵⁷ And all countries𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 came𐤁𐤀𐤅 into Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌𐤄 to Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 for to buy𐤋𐤔𐤁𐤓 corn; because that the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 was so sore𐤇𐤆𐤒 in all lands.𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 καὶ πᾶσαι αἱ χῶραι ἦλθον εἰς Αἴγυπτον πρὸς ἸωσήΦ. ἐπεκρότησεν γὰρ ὁ λιμὸς ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ.
