Chapter 24 ¹ And Abraham𐤅𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 was old,𐤆𐤒𐤍 and well stricken𐤁𐤀 in age:𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 and the Lord𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had blessed𐤁𐤓𐤊 Abraham𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 in all things. Καὶ Ἀβραὰμ ἦν πρεσβύτερος προβεβηκὼς ἡμερῶν, καὶ κύριος εὐλόγησεν τὸν Ἀβραὰμ κατὰ πάντα. ² And Abraham𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto his eldest𐤆𐤒𐤍 servant𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤅 of his house,𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤅 that ruled over𐤄𐤌𐤔𐤋 all that he had, Put,𐤔𐤉𐤌 I pray thee, thy hand𐤉𐤃𐤊 under my thigh:𐤉𐤓𐤊𐤉 καὶ εἶπεν Ἀβραὰμ τῷ παιδὶ αὐτοῦ, τῷ πρεσβυτέρῳ τῆς οἰκίας αὐτοῦ, τῷ ἄρχοντι πάντων τῶν αὐτοῦ Θὲς τὴν χεῖρά σου ὑπὸ τὸν μηρόν μου, ³ And I will make thee swear𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤁𐤉𐤏𐤊 by the Lord,𐤁𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 the God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of heaven,𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 and the God𐤅𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of the earth,𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 that thou shalt not take𐤕𐤒𐤇 a wife𐤀𐤔𐤄 unto my son𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 of the daughters𐤌𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 of the Canaanites,𐤄𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍𐤉 among𐤁𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤅 whom I dwell:𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤁 καὶ ἐξορκίσω σε κύριον τὸν θεὸν τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς, ἵνα μὴ λάβῃς γυναῖκα τῷ υἱῷ μου Ἰσαὰκ ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν Χαναναίων, μεθ’ ὦν ἐγὼ οἰκῶ μετ’ αὐτῶν· ⁴ But thou shalt go unto my country,𐤀𐤓𐤑𐤉 and to my kindred,𐤌𐤅𐤋𐤃𐤕𐤉 and take𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 a wife𐤀𐤔𐤄 unto my son𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 Isaac.𐤋𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 ἀλλὰ εἰς τὴν γῆν μου οὗ ἐγενόμην πορεύσῃ καὶ εἰς τὴν φυλήν μου, καὶ λήμψῃ γυναῖκα τῷ υἱῷ μου Ἰσαὰκ ἐκεῖθεν. ⁵ And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto him, Peradventure the woman𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤄 will not be willing𐤕𐤀𐤁𐤄 to follow me𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 unto this land:𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 must I needs bring𐤄𐤄𐤔𐤁 thy son𐤁𐤍𐤊 again𐤀𐤔𐤉𐤁 unto the land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 from whence thou camest?𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤕 εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ παῖς Μή ποτε οὐ βούλεται ἡ γυνὴ πορευθῆναι μετ’ ἐμοῦ ὀπίσω εἰς ἐκεῖθεν; ⁶ And Abraham𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto him, Beware𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤓 thou that thou bring𐤕𐤔𐤉𐤁 not𐤐𐤍 my son𐤁𐤍𐤉 thither again. εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτὸν Ἀβραὰμ Πρόσεχε σεαυτῷ μὴ ἀποστρέψῃς τὸν υἱόν μου ἐκεῖ· ⁷ The Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of heaven,𐤄𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 which took me𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤍𐤉 from my father's𐤀𐤁𐤉 house,𐤌𐤁𐤉𐤕 and from the land𐤅𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑 of my kindred,𐤌𐤅𐤋𐤃𐤕𐤉 and which spake𐤃𐤁𐤓 unto me, and that sware𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤏 unto me, saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Unto thy seed𐤋𐤆𐤓𐤏𐤊 will I give𐤀𐤕𐤍 this land;𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 he shall send𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇 his angel𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤅 before thee,𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤊 and thou shalt take𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 a wife𐤀𐤔𐤄 unto my son𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 from thence. Κύριος ὁ θεὸς τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ὁ θεὸς τῆς γῆς, ὃς ἔλαβέν με ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός μου καὶ ἐκ τῆς γῆς ἧς ν, ὃς ἐλάλησέν μοι καὶ ὤμοσέν· μοι λέγων Σοὶ δώσω τὴν γῆν D καὶ τῷ σπέρματί σου· αὐτὸς ἀποστελεῖ τὸν ἄγγελον αὐτοῦ σου, καὶ λήμψῃ γυναῖκα τῷ υἱῷ μου Ἰσαὰκ ἐκεῖθεν. ⁸ And if the woman𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤄 will not be willing𐤕𐤀𐤁𐤄 to follow thee,𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤊 then thou shalt be clear𐤅𐤍𐤒𐤉𐤕 from this my oath:𐤌𐤔𐤁𐤏𐤕𐤉 only bring𐤕𐤔𐤁 not my son𐤁𐤍𐤉 thither again. ἐὰν μὴ θέλῃ ἡ γυνὴ πορευθῆναι μετὰ σοῦ εἰς τὴν γῆν ταύτην, καθαρὸς ἔσῃ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἕρκου τούτου· μόνον τὸν υἱόν μου μὴ ἐκεῖ. ⁹ And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 put𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌 his hand𐤉𐤃𐤅 under the thigh𐤉𐤓𐤊 of Abraham𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 his master,𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤅 and sware𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤏 to him concerning𐤏𐤋 that𐤄𐤆𐤄 matter.𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 Καὶ ἔθηκεν ὁ πάις τὴν Χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ὑπὸ τὸν μηρὸν Ἀβραὰμ τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὤμοσεν αὐτῷ περὶ τοῦ ῥήματος τούτου. ¹⁰ And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇 ten𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 camels𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 of the camels𐤌𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉 of his master,𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤅 and departed; for all the goods𐤈𐤅𐤁 of his master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤅 were in his hand:𐤁𐤉𐤃𐤅 and he arose,𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤌 and went to Mesopotamia,𐤀𐤓𐤌 unto the city𐤏𐤉𐤓 of Nahor.𐤍𐤇𐤅𐤓 καὶ ἔλαβεν ὁ παῖς δέκα καμήλους ἀπὸ τῶν καμήλων τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἀγαθῶν τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ μεθ’ ἑαυτοῦ, καὶ ἀναστὰς εἰς τὴν Μεσοποταμίαν εἰς τὴν πόλιν Ναχώρ. ¹¹ And he made𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 his camels𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 to kneel down without𐤌𐤇𐤅𐤑 the city𐤋𐤏𐤉𐤓 by𐤀𐤋 a well𐤁𐤀𐤓 of water𐤄𐤌𐤉𐤌 at the time𐤋𐤏𐤕 of the evening,𐤏𐤓𐤁 even the time𐤋𐤏𐤕 that women go out𐤑𐤀𐤕 to draw𐤄𐤔𐤀𐤁𐤕 water. καὶ ἐκοίτὰς καμήλους ἔξω τῆς πόλεως παρὰ τὸ φρέαρ τοῦ ὕδατος τὸ ψέ, ἡνίκα ἐκπορεύονται αἱ ὑδρευόμεναι. ¹² And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 O Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 Abraham,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 I pray thee, send me𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 good speed𐤄𐤒𐤓𐤄 this day,𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 and shew𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤄 kindness𐤇𐤎𐤃 unto𐤏𐤌 my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 Abraham.𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 καὶ εἶπεν κύριε ὁ θεὸς τοῦ κυρίου Ἀβραάμ, εὐόδωσον ἐναντίον ἐμοῦ σήμερον καὶ ποίησον ἔλεος μετὰ τοῦ κυρίου μου Ἀβραάμ. ¹³ Behold, I stand𐤍𐤑𐤁 here by the well𐤏𐤉𐤍 of water;𐤄𐤌𐤉𐤌 and the daughters𐤅𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 of the men𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉 of the city𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤓 come out𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤕 to draw𐤋𐤔𐤀𐤁 water:𐤌𐤉𐤌 ἰδσὺ ἐγὼ ἕστηκα ἐπὶ τῆς πηγῆς τοῦ ὕδατος, αἱ δὲ θυγατέρες τῶν οἰκούντων τὴν πόλιν ἐκπορεύονται ἀντλῆσαι ὕδωρ· ¹⁴ And let it come to pass, that the damsel𐤄𐤍𐤏𐤓 to whom I shall say,𐤀𐤌𐤓 Let down𐤄𐤈𐤉 thy pitcher,𐤊𐤃𐤊 I pray thee, that I may drink;𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤕𐤄 and she shall say,𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤄 Drink,𐤔𐤕𐤄 and I will give𐤀𐤔𐤒𐤄 thy camels𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤊 drink also: let the same be she that thou hast appointed𐤄𐤊𐤇𐤕 for thy servant𐤋𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤊 Isaac;𐤋𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 and thereby shall I know𐤀𐤃𐤏 that thou hast shewed𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤕 kindness𐤇𐤎𐤃 unto my master.𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 καὶ ἔσται ἡ παρθένος ἧ ἄν ἐγὼ εἴπω Ἐπίκλινον τὴν ὑδρίαν σου ἵνα πίω, καὶ εἴπῃ μοι Πίε σύ, καὶ τὰς καμήουστ σου ποτιῶ ἕως ἄν παύσωνται πίνουσαι, ταύτην ἡτοίμασας τῷ παιδί σου Ἰσαάκ· καὶ ἐν τούτῳ γνώσομαι ὅτι ἐποίησας ἔλεος τῷ κυρίῳ μου Ἀβραίμ. ¹⁵ And it came to pass, before he had done𐤊𐤋𐤄 speaking,𐤋𐤃𐤁𐤓 that, behold, Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 came out,𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤕 who𐤀𐤔𐤓 was born𐤉𐤋𐤃𐤄 to Bethuel,𐤋𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤀𐤋 son𐤁𐤍 of Milcah,𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤄 the wife𐤀𐤔𐤕 of Nahor,𐤍𐤇𐤅𐤓 Abraham's𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 brother,𐤀𐤇𐤉 with her pitcher𐤅𐤊𐤃𐤄 upon her shoulder.𐤔𐤊𐤌𐤄 καὶ ἐγένετο πρὸ τοῦ συντελέσαι αὐτὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν τῇ διανοίᾳ, καὶ ἰδοὺ Ῥεβέκκα ἐξεπορεύετο, ἡ τεχθεῖσα Βαθουήλ, υἱῷ Μέλχας τῆς γυναικὸς Ναχώρ, ἀδελφοῦ δὲ Ἀβγραάμ, ἔχουσα τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τῶν ὤμων αὐτῆς. ¹⁶ And the damsel𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤏𐤓 was very𐤌𐤀𐤃 fair𐤈𐤁𐤕 to look upon,𐤌𐤓𐤀𐤄 a virgin,𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤋𐤄 neither had any man𐤅𐤀𐤉𐤔 known𐤉𐤃𐤏𐤄 her: and she went down𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤃 to the well,𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤄 and filled𐤅𐤕𐤌𐤋𐤀 her pitcher,𐤊𐤃𐤄 and came up.𐤅𐤕𐤏𐤋 ἠ δὲ παρθένος ἦν καλὴ τῇ ὄψει σφόδρα. παρθένος ἦν, ἀνὴρ οὐκ ἔγνω αὐτήν. καταβᾶσα δὲ ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν ἔπλησεν τὴν ὑδρίαν αὐτῆς, καὶ ἀνέβη. ¹⁷ And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 ran𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤑 to meet her, and said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Let me, I pray thee, drink𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤉𐤀𐤉𐤍𐤉 a little𐤌𐤏𐤈 water𐤌𐤉𐤌 of thy pitcher.𐤌𐤊𐤃𐤊 ἐπέδραμεν δὲ ὁ παῖς εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῆς καὶ εἶπεν Πότισόν με μικρὸν ὕδωρ ἐκ τῆς ὑδρίας σου. ¹⁸ And she said,𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 Drink,𐤔𐤕𐤄 my lord:𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 and she hasted,𐤅𐤕𐤌𐤄𐤓 and let down𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤃 her pitcher𐤊𐤃𐤄 upon her hand,𐤉𐤃𐤄 and gave him drink.𐤅𐤕𐤔𐤒𐤄𐤅 ἡ δὲ εἶπεν Πίε, κύριε· καὶ ἔσπευσεν καὶ καθεῖλεν τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τὸν βραχίονα αὐτῆς καὶ ἐπότισεν αὐτὸν ἕως ἐπαύσατο πίνων. ¹⁹ And when she had done𐤅𐤕𐤊𐤋 giving him drink,𐤋𐤄𐤔𐤒𐤕𐤅 she said,𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 I will draw𐤀𐤔𐤀𐤁 water for thy camels𐤋𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤊 also, until they have done𐤊𐤋𐤅 drinking.𐤋𐤔𐤕𐤕 καὶ εἶπεν καὶ ταῖς καμήλοις σου ὑδρεύσομαι ἕως ἄν πᾶσαι πίωσιν. ²⁰ And she hasted,𐤅𐤕𐤌𐤄𐤓 and emptied𐤅𐤕𐤏𐤓 her pitcher𐤊𐤃𐤄 into the trough,𐤄𐤔𐤒𐤕 and ran𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤑 again unto the well𐤄𐤁𐤀𐤓 to draw𐤋𐤔𐤀𐤁 water, and drew𐤅𐤕𐤔𐤀𐤁 for all his camels.𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤅 καὶ ἕσπευσεν καὶ ἐξεκένωσεν τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τὸ ποτιστήριον, καὶ ἔδραμεν ἐπὶ τὸ φρέαρ ἀντλῆσαι ὕδωρ, καὶ ὑδρεύσατο πάσαις ταῖς καμήλοις. ²¹ And the man𐤅𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 wondering𐤌𐤔𐤕𐤀𐤄 at her held his peace,𐤌𐤇𐤓𐤉𐤔 to wit𐤋𐤃𐤏𐤕 whether the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 had made𐤄𐤄𐤑𐤋𐤉𐤇 his journey𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤅 prosperous or𐤀𐤌 not. ὁ δὲ ἄνθρωπος κατεμάνθανεν αὐτήν, καὶ παρεσιώπα τοῦ γνῶναι ἢ εὐόδωκεν Κύριος τὴν ὁδὸν αὐτοῦ ἢ οὔ. ²² And it came to pass, as the camels𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 had done𐤊𐤋𐤅 drinking,𐤋𐤔𐤕𐤅𐤕 that the man𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇 a golden𐤆𐤄𐤁 earring𐤍𐤆𐤌 of half a shekel𐤁𐤒𐤏 weight,𐤌𐤔𐤒𐤋𐤅 and two𐤅𐤔𐤍𐤉 bracelets𐤑𐤌𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤌 for her hands𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤄 of ten𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 shekels weight𐤌𐤔𐤒𐤋𐤌 of gold;𐤆𐤄𐤁 ἐγένετο δὲ ἡνίκα ἐπαύσαντο πᾶσαι αἱ κάμηλοι πίνουσαι, ἔλαβεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐνώτια χρυσᾶ ἀνὰ δραχμὴν ὁλκῆς καὶ δύο ψέλια ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖρας αὐτῆς· δέκα χρυσῶν ὁλκὴ αὐτῶν. ²³ And said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Whose𐤌𐤉 daughter𐤁𐤕 art thou?𐤀𐤕 tell𐤄𐤂𐤉𐤃𐤉 me, I pray thee: is there𐤄𐤉𐤔 room𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 in thy father's𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤊 house𐤁𐤉𐤕 for us to lodge in?𐤋𐤋𐤉𐤍 καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτὴν καὶ εἶπεν Θυγάτηρ τίνος εἶ; ἀνάγγειλόν μοι· εἰ ἔστιν παρὰ τῷ πατρί σου τόπος ἡμῖν καταλῦσαι; ²⁴ And she said𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto him, I am the daughter𐤁𐤕 of Bethuel𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤀𐤋 the son𐤁𐤍 of Milcah,𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤄 which she bare𐤉𐤋𐤃𐤄 unto Nahor.𐤋𐤍𐤇𐤅𐤓 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Θυγάτηρ Βαθουήλ εἰμι ἐγὼ τοῦ Μέλχας, ὃν ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ Ναχώρ. ²⁵ She said𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 moreover unto him, We have both𐤂𐤌 straw𐤕𐤁𐤍 and provender𐤌𐤎𐤐𐤅𐤀 enough,𐤓𐤁 and𐤂𐤌 room𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 to lodge in.𐤋𐤋𐤅𐤍 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ καὶ ἄχυρα καὶ χόρτασμα πολὺ παρ’ ἡμῖν, καὶ τόπος τοῦ καταλῦσαι. ²⁶ And the man𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 bowed down his head,𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤃 and worshipped𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅 the Lord.𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 καὶ εὐδοκήσας ὁ ἄνθρωπος προσεκύνησεν κυρίῳ καὶ εἶπεν ²⁷ And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Blessed𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤊 be the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 Abraham,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 who hath not left destitute𐤏𐤆𐤁 𐤌𐤏𐤌 my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 of his mercy𐤇𐤎𐤃𐤅 and his truth:𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤕𐤅 I being in the way,𐤁𐤃𐤓𐤊 the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 led me𐤍𐤇𐤍𐤉 to the house𐤁𐤉𐤕 of my master's𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 brethren.𐤀𐤇𐤉 Εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς τοῦ κυρίου μου Ἀβραάμ, ὅς οὐκ ἐγκατέλειπεν γ’ δικαιοσύνην καὶ τὴν ἀλήθειαν ἀπὸ τοῦ κυρίου μου· ἐμὲ εὐόδωκεν Κύριος εἰς οἶκον τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ τοῦ κυρίου μου. ²⁸ And the damsel𐤄𐤍𐤏𐤓 ran,𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤑 and told𐤅𐤕𐤂𐤃 them of her mother's𐤀𐤌𐤄 house𐤋𐤁𐤉𐤕 these things.𐤊𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 καὶ δραμοῦσα ἡ παῖς ἀπήγγειλεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τῆς μητρὸς αὐτῆς κατὰ τὰ ῥήματα ταῦτα. ²⁹ And Rebekah𐤅𐤋𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 had a brother,𐤀𐤇 and his name𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤅 was Laban:𐤋𐤁𐤍 and Laban𐤋𐤁𐤍 ran𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤑 out𐤄𐤇𐤅𐤑𐤄 unto the man,𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 unto the well.𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤍 τῇ δὲ Ῥεβἐλλᾳ ἀδελφὸς ἦν ᾦ ὄνομα Λαβάν· καὶ ἔδραμεν Λαβὰν πρὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον ἵξω ἐπὶ τὴν πηγήν. ³⁰ And it came to pass, when he saw𐤊𐤓𐤀𐤕 the earring𐤄𐤍𐤆𐤌 and bracelets𐤄𐤑𐤌𐤃𐤉𐤌 upon his sister's𐤀𐤇𐤕𐤅 hands,𐤉𐤃𐤉 and when he heard𐤅𐤊𐤔𐤌𐤏𐤅 the words𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉 of Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 his sister,𐤀𐤇𐤕𐤅 saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Thus𐤊𐤄 spake𐤃𐤁𐤓 the man𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 unto me; that he came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 unto the man;𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 and, behold, he stood𐤏𐤌𐤃 by𐤏𐤋 the camels𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 at the well.𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤍 καὶ ἐγένετο ἡνίκα ἴδεν τὰ ἐνώτια καὶ τὰ ψέλια ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖρας τῆς ἀδελφῆς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὅτι ἤκουσεν τὰ ῥήματα Ῥεβέκκας τῆς ἀδελφῆς αὐτοῦ οὕτως λελάληκέν μοι ὁ ἄνθρωπος, καὶ ἦλθεν πρὸς τὸν ἄ ἑστηκότος αὐτοῦ ἐπὶ τῶν καμήλων ἐπὶ τῆς πηγῆς· ³¹ And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Come in,𐤁𐤅𐤀 thou blessed𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤊 of the Lord;𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 wherefore standest𐤕𐤏𐤌𐤃 thou without?𐤁𐤇𐤅𐤑 for I have prepared𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤕𐤉 the house,𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤕 and room𐤅𐤌𐤒𐤅𐤌 for the camels.𐤋𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Δεῦρο εἴσελθε, εὐλογητὸς κύριος· ἵνα τί ἕστηκας ἔξω; ἐγὼ δὲ ἡτοίμασα τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ τόπον ταῖς καμήλοις. ³² And the man𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 into the house:𐤄𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤄 and he ungirded𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤕𐤇 his camels,𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 and gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 straw𐤕𐤁𐤍 and provender𐤅𐤌𐤎𐤐𐤅𐤀 for the camels,𐤋𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 and water𐤅𐤌𐤉𐤌 to wash𐤋𐤓𐤇𐤑 his feet,𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤉𐤅 and the men's𐤄𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 feet𐤅𐤓𐤂𐤋𐤉 that were with him. εἰσῆλθεν δὲ ὁ ἄνθρωπος εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν, καὶ ἀπέσαξεν τὰς καμήλους· καὶ ἔδωκεν ἄχυρα καὶ χορτάσματα ταῖς καμήλοις, καὶ ὕδωρ τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῖς ποσὶν τῶν ἀνδρῶν τῶν μετ’ αὐτοῦ, ³³ And there was set𐤅𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤌 meat before him𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤅 to eat:𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤋 but he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 I will not eat,𐤀𐤊𐤋 until I have told𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤕𐤉 mine errand.𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉 And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Speak on.𐤃𐤁𐤓 καὶ παρέθηκεν αὐτοῖς ἄρτους φαγεῖν. καὶ Οὐ μὴ φάγω ἕως τοῦ λαλῆσαί με τὰ ῥήματά μου. καὶ εἶπαν Λάλησον. ³⁴ And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 I am Abraham's𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 servant.𐤏𐤁𐤃 καὶ εἶπεν Παίς Ἀβαάμ ἐγώ εἰμι. ³⁵ And the Lord𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 hath blessed𐤁𐤓𐤊 my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 greatly;𐤌𐤀𐤃 and he is become great:𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤃𐤋 and he hath given𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 him flocks,𐤑𐤀𐤍 and herds,𐤅𐤁𐤒𐤓 and silver,𐤅𐤊𐤎𐤐 and gold,𐤅𐤆𐤄𐤁 and menservants,𐤅𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤌 and maidservants,𐤅𐤔𐤐𐤇𐤕 and camels,𐤅𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 and asses.𐤅𐤇𐤌𐤓𐤉𐤌 Κύριος δὲ εὐλό τὸν κύριόν μου σφόδρα, καὶ ὑψώθη· καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ πρόβατα καὶ μόσχους καὶ ἀργύριον καὶ χρυσίον, παῖδας καὶ παιδίσκας, καμήλους καὶ ὄνους. ³⁶ And Sarah𐤔𐤓𐤄 my master's𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 wife𐤀𐤔𐤕 bare𐤅𐤕𐤋𐤃 a son𐤁𐤍 to my master𐤋𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 when𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 she was old:𐤆𐤒𐤍𐤕𐤄 and unto him hath he given𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 all that he hath. καὶ ἔτεκεν Σάρρα ἡ γυνὴ τοῦ κυρίου μου υἱὸν ἕνα τῷ κυρίῳ μου μετὰ τὸ γηρᾶσαι αὐτόν· καὶ ἔδωκεν αὺτῷ ὅσα ἦν αὐτῷ. ³⁷ And my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 made me swear,𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤏𐤍𐤉 saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Thou shalt not take𐤕𐤒𐤇 a wife𐤀𐤔𐤄 to my son𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 of the daughters𐤌𐤁𐤍𐤅𐤕 of the Canaanites,𐤄𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍𐤉 in whose land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑𐤅 I dwell:𐤉𐤔𐤁 καὶ ὥρκισέν με ὁ κύριός μου λέγων Οὐ λήμψῃ γυναῖκα τῷ υἱῷ μου ἀπὸ τῶν θυγατέρων τῶν Χαναναίων, ἐν οἷς ἐγὼ παροικῶ ἐν τῇ γῆ αὐτῶν· ³⁸ But𐤀𐤌 thou shalt go unto my father's𐤀𐤁𐤉 house,𐤁𐤉𐤕 and to my kindred,𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤇𐤕𐤉 and take𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 a wife𐤀𐤔𐤄 unto my son.𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 ἀλλ᾿ ἢ εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ πατρός μου πορεύσῃ καὶ εἰς τὴν φυλήν μου, καὶ λήμψῃ γυναῖκα τῷ υἱῷ μου ἐκεῖθεν. ³⁹ And I said𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto my master,𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 Peradventure the woman𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤄 will not follow𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 me. εἶπα δὲ τῷ κυρίῳ μου Μή ποτε οὐ πορευθῇ ἡ γυνὴ μετ’ ἐμοῦ. ⁴⁰ And he said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto me, The Lord,𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 before𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤅 whom I walk,𐤄𐤕𐤄𐤋𐤊𐤕𐤉 will send𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇 his angel𐤌𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤅 with thee, and prosper𐤅𐤄𐤑𐤋𐤉𐤇 thy way;𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤊 and thou shalt take𐤅𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 a wife𐤀𐤔𐤄 for my son𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤉 of my kindred,𐤌𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤇𐤕𐤉 and of my father's𐤀𐤁𐤉 house:𐤅𐤌𐤁𐤉𐤕 καὶ εἶπεν μοι Κύριος ὁ θεός, ᾦ εὐηρέστησα ἐναντίον αὐτοῦ, αὐτὸς ἐξαποστελεῖ τὸν ἄλλελον αὐτοῦ μετὰ σοῦ καὶ εὐοδώσει τὴν ὁδόν σου· καὶ καὶ γυναῖκα τῷ υἱῷ μου ἐκ τῆς φυλῆς μου καὶ ἐκ τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ πατρός μου. ⁴¹ Then shalt thou be clear𐤕𐤍𐤒𐤄 from this my oath,𐤌𐤀𐤋𐤕𐤉 when thou comest𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤀 to my kindred;𐤌𐤔𐤐𐤇𐤕𐤉 and if they give𐤉𐤕𐤍𐤅 not thee one, thou shalt be clear𐤍𐤒𐤉 from my oath.𐤌𐤀𐤋𐤕𐤉 τότε ἀθῷος ἴσῃ ἐκ τῆς ἀρᾶς μου· ἡνίκα γὰρ ἐὰν ἔλθῃς εἰς τὴν φυλήν μου καὶ μὴ δῶσίν σοι, καὶ ἴσῃ ἀθῷος ἀπὸ τοῦ ὁρκισμοῦ μου. ⁴² And I came𐤅𐤀𐤁𐤀 this day𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 unto the well,𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤍 and said,𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓 O Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 Abraham,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 if now thou do𐤉𐤔𐤊 prosper𐤌𐤑𐤋𐤉𐤇 my way𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤉 which I go:𐤄𐤋𐤊 καὶ ἐλθὼν σήμερον ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν εἶπα Κύριε ὁ θεὸς τοῦ κυρίου μου Ἀβραάμ, εἰ σὺ εὐοδοῖς τὴν ὁδόν μου, ἤν νῦν ἐγὼ πορεύομαι ἔ αὐτήν· ⁴³ Behold, I stand𐤍𐤑𐤁 by the well𐤏𐤉𐤍 of water;𐤄𐤌𐤉𐤌 and it shall come to pass, that when the virgin𐤄𐤏𐤋𐤌𐤄 cometh forth𐤄𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤕 to draw𐤋𐤔𐤀𐤁 water, and I say𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤕𐤉 to her, Give me,𐤄𐤔𐤒𐤉𐤍𐤉 I pray thee, a little𐤌𐤏𐤈 water𐤌𐤉𐤌 of thy pitcher𐤌𐤊𐤃𐤊 to drink; ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἕστηκα ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν τοῦ ὕδατος, καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες τῶν ἀνθρώπων τῆς ἐξελεύσονται ὑδρεύσασθαι ὕδωρ, καὶ ἱστᾶι ἡ παρθένος ᾗ ἄν Πότισόν με μικρὸν ὕδωρ ἐκ τῆς ὑδρίας σου, ⁴⁴ And she say𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤄 to me, Both drink𐤔𐤕𐤄 thou, and I will also draw𐤀𐤔𐤀𐤁 for thy camels:𐤋𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤊 let the same be the woman𐤄𐤀𐤔𐤄 whom the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 hath appointed out𐤄𐤊𐤉𐤇 for my master's𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 son.𐤋𐤁𐤍 καὶ εἴπῃ μοι Πίε σύ, καὶ ταῖς καμήλοις σου ὑδρεύσομαι, αὕτη ἡ γυνὴ ἢν ἡτοίμασεν Κύριος τῷ ἑαυτοῦ θεράπουτι Ἰσαάκ· καὶ ἐν τούτῳ γνώσομαι ὅτι πεποίηκας ἔλεος τῷ κυρίῳ μου Ἀβραάμ. ⁴⁵ And before I had done𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤄 speaking𐤋𐤃𐤁𐤓 in mine heart,𐤋𐤁𐤉 behold, Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 came forth𐤉𐤑𐤀𐤕 with her pitcher𐤅𐤊𐤃𐤄 on her shoulder;𐤔𐤊𐤌𐤄 and she went down𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤃 unto the well,𐤄𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤄 and drew𐤅𐤕𐤔𐤀𐤁 water: and I said𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto her, Let me drink,𐤄𐤔𐤒𐤉𐤍𐤉 I pray thee. καὶ ἐγένετο πρὸ τοῦ συντελέσαι με λαλοῦντα ἐν τῇ διανοίᾳ μου, εὐθὺς ἐγένετο ἐξεπορεύετο συντελέσαι ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τῶν ὤμων, καὶ κατέβη ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν καὶ ὑδρεύσατο. εἶπα δὲ αὐτῇ Πότισόν με. ⁴⁶ And she made haste,𐤅𐤕𐤌𐤄𐤓 and let down𐤅𐤕𐤅𐤓𐤃 her pitcher𐤊𐤃𐤄 from her shoulder, and said,𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 Drink,𐤔𐤕𐤄 and I will give𐤀𐤔𐤒𐤄 thy camels𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤊 drink𐤄𐤔𐤒𐤕𐤄 also: so I drank,𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤕 and she made the camels𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 drink also. καὶ σπεύσασα καθδῖλεν τὴν ὑδρίαν ἐπὶ τὸν βραχίονα αὐτῆς άφ᾿ ἑαυτῆς καὶ εἶπεν Πίε σύ, καὶ τὰς καμήλους σου ποτιῶ· καὶ ἔπιον, καὶ τὰς καμήλους μου ἐπότισεν. ⁴⁷ And I asked𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤀𐤋 her, and said,𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓 Whose daughter𐤁𐤕 art thou? And she said,𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 The daughter𐤁𐤕 of Bethuel,𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤀𐤋 Nahor's𐤍𐤇𐤅𐤓 son,𐤁𐤍 whom Milcah𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤄 bare𐤉𐤋𐤃𐤄 unto him: and I put𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤌 the earring𐤄𐤍𐤆𐤌 upon her face,𐤀𐤐𐤄 and the bracelets𐤅𐤄𐤑𐤌𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤌 upon her hands.𐤉𐤃𐤉𐤄 καὶ ἠρώτησα αὐτὴν καὶ εἶπα τίνος θυγάτηρ εἰ ; ἀνάγγειλόν μοι. ἡ δὲ ἴφη Θυγάτηρ Βαθουήλ εἰμι ἐφ’ τοῦ υἱοῦ Ναχώρ, ὃν ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ Μελχά. καὶ περιέθηκα αὐτῇ τὰ ἐνώτια καὶ τὰ ψέλια ἐπὶ τὰς χεῖρας αεῖρας ⁴⁸ And I bowed down my head,𐤅𐤀𐤒𐤃 and worshipped𐤅𐤀𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅𐤄 the Lord,𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 and blessed𐤅𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤊 the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 God𐤀𐤋𐤄𐤉 of my master𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 Abraham,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 which had led me𐤄𐤍𐤇𐤍𐤉 in the right𐤀𐤌𐤕 way𐤁𐤃𐤓𐤊 to take𐤋𐤒𐤇𐤕 my master's𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 brother's𐤀𐤇𐤉 daughter𐤁𐤕 unto his son.𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤅 καὶ εὐδοκήσας προσεκύνησα κυρίῳ, καὶ εὐλόγησα Τύριον τὸν θεὸν τοῦ κυρίου μου Ἀβραάμ, ὅς εὐόδωσέν μοι ἐν ὁδῷ ἁληθείας, λαβεῖν τὴν θυγατέρα τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ τοῦ κυρίου μου τῷ υἱῷ αὐτοῦ. ⁴⁹ And now if ye will𐤉𐤔𐤊𐤌 deal𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤌 kindly𐤇𐤎𐤃 and truly𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤕 with my master,𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 tell𐤄𐤂𐤉𐤃𐤅 me: and if not, tell𐤄𐤂𐤉𐤃𐤅 me; that I may turn𐤅𐤀𐤐𐤍𐤄 to the right hand,𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤍 or𐤀𐤅 to the left.𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤋 εἰ οὖν ποιεῖτε ὑμεῖς ἕλεος κοὶ δικαιοσύνην πρὸς τὸν κύριόν μου, ἀπαγγείλατέ μοι, ἵνα ἐπιστρέψω εἰς δεξιὰν ἢ εἰς ἀριστερόν. ⁵⁰ Then Laban𐤋𐤁𐤍 and Bethuel𐤅𐤁𐤕𐤅𐤀𐤋 answered𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤍 and said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 The thing𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓 proceedeth𐤉𐤑𐤀 from the Lord:𐤌𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 we cannot𐤍𐤅𐤊𐤋 speak𐤃𐤁𐤓 unto thee bad𐤓𐤏 or𐤀𐤅 good.𐤈𐤅𐤁 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Λαβὰν καὶ Βαθουὴλ εἶπαν Παρὰ κυρίου ἐξῆλθεν τὸ πρόσταυμα τοῦτο· οὐ α οὖν σοι ἀντειπεῖν κακὸν καλῶ. ⁵¹ Behold, Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 is before thee,𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤊 take𐤒𐤇 her, and go, and let her be thy master's𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉𐤊 son's𐤋𐤁𐤍 wife,𐤀𐤔𐤄 as the Lord𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 hath spoken.𐤃𐤁𐤓 ἰδοὺ Ῥεβέκκα ἐνώπιόν , λαβὼν ἀπότρεχε· καὶ ἴστω γυνὴ τῷ υἱῷ τοῦ κυρίου σου, καθὰ Κύριος. ⁵² And it came to pass, that, when Abraham's𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 servant𐤏𐤁𐤃 heard𐤔𐤌𐤏 their words,𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤌 he worshipped𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅 the Lord,𐤋𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 bowing himself to the earth.𐤀𐤓𐤑𐤄 ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ ἀκοῦσαι τὸν παῖδα τὸν τὸν Ἀβραὰμ τῶν ῥημάτων τούτων, προσεκύνησεν ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν κυρίῳ. ⁵³ And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 brought forth𐤅𐤉𐤅𐤑𐤀 jewels𐤊𐤋𐤉 of silver,𐤊𐤎𐤐 and jewels𐤅𐤊𐤋𐤉 of gold,𐤆𐤄𐤁 and raiment,𐤅𐤁𐤂𐤃𐤉𐤌 and gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 them to Rebekah:𐤋𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 he gave𐤍𐤕𐤍 also to her brother𐤋𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤄 and to her mother𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤄 precious things.𐤅𐤌𐤂𐤃𐤍𐤕 καὶ ἐξενἐγκας ὁ παῖς σκεύη ἀργυρᾶ καὶ χρυσᾶ καὶ ἱματισμὸν ἔδωκεν Ῥεβέκκᾳ, καὶ δῶρα ἔδωκεν τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτῆς καὶ τῆ̣ μητρὶ αὐτῆς. ⁵⁴ And they did eat𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤅 and drink,𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤅 he and the men𐤅𐤄𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 that were with him, and tarried all night;𐤅𐤉𐤋𐤉𐤍𐤅 and they rose up𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤅𐤌𐤅 in the morning,𐤁𐤁𐤒𐤓 and he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Send me away𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤍𐤉 unto my master.𐤋𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ ἄνδρες οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ ὄντες, καὶ ἑ ἐκοιμήθησαν. καὶ ἀναστὰς πρωὶ εἶπεν Ἐεκπέμψατέ με ἵνα ἀπέλθω πρὸς τὸν κύριόν μου. ⁵⁵ And her brother𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤄 and her mother𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤄 said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Let the damsel𐤄𐤍𐤏𐤓 abide𐤕𐤔𐤁 with us a few days,𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 at the least𐤀𐤅 ten;𐤏𐤔𐤅𐤓 after𐤀𐤇𐤓 that she shall go. εἶπαν δὲ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ αὐτῆς καὶ ἡ μήτηρ Μεινάτω ἡ παρθένος μεθ’ ἡμῶν ἡμέρας ὡσεὶ δέκα, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἀπελεύσεται. ⁵⁶ And he said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto them, Hinder me𐤕𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤅 not, seeing the Lord𐤅𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 hath prospered𐤄𐤑𐤋𐤉𐤇 my way;𐤃𐤓𐤊𐤉 send me away𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤅𐤍𐤉 that I may go to my master.𐤋𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 ὁ δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς Μὴ κατέχετέ με, καὶ κύριος εὐόδωσεν τὴν ὁδόν μου· ἐκπέμψατέ με ἵνα ἀπέλθω πρὸς τὸν κύριόν μου. ⁵⁷ And they said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 We will call𐤍𐤒𐤓𐤀 the damsel,𐤋𐤍𐤏𐤓 and enquire𐤅𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤋𐤄 at her mouth.𐤐𐤉𐤄 οἱ δὲ εἶπαν Καλέσωμεν τὴν παῖδα καὶ ἐπερωτήσωμεν τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς. ⁵⁸ And they called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀𐤅 Rebekah,𐤋𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 and said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 unto her, Wilt thou go with this man?𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 And she said,𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 I will go. καὶ ἐκάλεσαν Ρεβέκκαν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῇ Πορεύσῃ μετὰ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου τούτου ; καὶ εἶπεν Ποφεύσομαι. ⁵⁹ And they sent away𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤋𐤇𐤅 Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 their sister,𐤀𐤇𐤕𐤌 and her nurse,𐤌𐤍𐤒𐤕𐤄 and Abraham's𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤄𐤌 servant,𐤏𐤁𐤃 and his men.𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤅 καὶ ἐξέπεμψαν Ρρνῤλλσν τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτῶν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα σὐτῆς, καὶ τὸν παῖδα τὸν Ἀβραὰμ καὶ τοὺς μετ’ αὐτοῦ. ⁶⁰ And they blessed𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊𐤅 Rebekah,𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 and said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 unto her, Thou𐤀𐤕 art our sister,𐤀𐤇𐤕𐤍𐤅 be thou𐤄𐤉𐤉 the mother of thousands𐤋𐤀𐤋𐤐𐤉 of millions,𐤓𐤁𐤁𐤄 and let thy seed𐤆𐤓𐤏𐤊 possess𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤓𐤔 the gate𐤔𐤏𐤓 of those which hate𐤔𐤍𐤀𐤉𐤅 them. καὶ εὐλόγησαν Ῥεβέκκαν τὴν ἀδελφὴν αὐτῶν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῇ Ἀδελφὴ ἡμῶν εἶ· γίνου εἰς χιλιάδας μυριάδων, καὶ κληρονομησάτω τὸ σπέρμα σου τὰς πόλεις τῶν ὑπεναντίων. ⁶¹ And Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 arose,𐤅𐤕𐤒𐤌 and her damsels,𐤅𐤍𐤏𐤓𐤕𐤉𐤄 and they rode𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤊𐤁𐤍𐤄 upon the camels,𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 and followed𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 the man:𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 and the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇 Rebekah,𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 and went his way. Ἀναστᾶσα δὲ Ῥεβέκκα καὶ αἱ ἅβραι αὐτῆς ἐπέβησαν ἐπὶ τὰς καμήλους, καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν μετὰ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου· καὶ ἀναλαβὼν ὁ παῖςτὴν Ῥεβέκκαν ἀπῆλθεν. ⁶² And Isaac𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 came𐤁𐤀 from the way𐤌𐤁𐤅𐤀 of the well Lahai–roi;𐤁𐤀𐤓 for he dwelt𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤁 in the south𐤄𐤍𐤂𐤁 country.𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 Ἰσαὰκ δὲ ἐπορεύετο διὰ τῆς ἐρήμου κατὰ τὸ φρέαρ τῆς ὁράσεως· αὐτὸς δὲ κατῴκει ἐν τῇ γῇ τῇ πρὸς λίβα. ⁶³ And Isaac𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 went out𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤀 to meditate𐤋𐤔𐤅𐤇 in the field𐤁𐤔𐤃𐤄 at𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤅𐤕 the eventide:𐤏𐤓𐤁 and he lifted up𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤀 his eyes,𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤅 and saw,𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤀 and, behold, the camels𐤂𐤌𐤋𐤉𐤌 were coming.𐤁𐤀𐤉𐤌 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν Ἰσαὰκ ἀδολεσχῆσαι εἰς τὸ πεδίον τὸ πρὸς δείλης, καὶ ἀναβλέψας τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ἴδεν καμήλους ἐρχομένας. ⁶⁴ And Rebekah𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 lifted up𐤅𐤕𐤔𐤀 her eyes,𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤄 and when she saw𐤅𐤕𐤓𐤀 Isaac,𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 she lighted𐤅𐤕𐤐𐤋 off𐤌𐤏𐤋 the camel.𐤄𐤂𐤌𐤋 καὶ ἀναβλέψασα Ρεβέκκα τοῖς ὀφθαλμοῖς ἴδεν τὸν Ἰσαὰκ καὶ κατεπήδησεν ἀπὸ τῆς καμήλου, ⁶⁵ For she had said𐤅𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto the servant,𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 What𐤌𐤉 man𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤔 is this𐤄𐤋𐤆𐤄 that walketh𐤄𐤄𐤋𐤊 in the field𐤁𐤔𐤃𐤄 to meet us? And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 had said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 It is my master:𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 therefore she took𐤅𐤕𐤒𐤇 a vail,𐤄𐤑𐤏𐤉𐤐 and covered herself.𐤅𐤕𐤕𐤊𐤎 καὶ εἶπεν τῶ παιδί τίς ἐστιν ὁ ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖνος ὁ πορευόμενος ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ εἰς συνάντησιν ἡμῖν ; εἶπεν δὲ ὁ παῖς οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ κύριός μου· ἡ δὲ λαβοῦσα τὸ θέριστρον περιεβάλετο. ⁶⁶ And the servant𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤃 told𐤅𐤉𐤎𐤐𐤓 Isaac𐤋𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 all things𐤄𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 that he had done.𐤏𐤔𐤄 καὶ διηγήσατο ὁ παῖς τῷ Ἰσαὰκ πάντα τὰ ῥήματα ἃ ἐποίησεν. ⁶⁷ And Isaac𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 brought her𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤄 into his mother𐤀𐤌𐤅 Sarah's𐤔𐤓𐤄 tent,𐤄𐤀𐤄𐤋𐤄 and took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇 Rebekah,𐤓𐤁𐤒𐤄 and she became his wife;𐤋𐤀𐤔𐤄 and he loved𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤄𐤁𐤄 her: and Isaac𐤉𐤑𐤇𐤒 was comforted𐤅𐤉𐤍𐤇𐤌 after𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 his mother's𐤀𐤌𐤅 𐤐 death. εἰσῆλθεν δὲ Ἰσαὰκ εἰς τὸν οἶκον τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Ῥεβέκκαν, καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ γυνή, καὶ ἠγάπησεν αὐτήν· καὶ παρεκλήθη Ἰσαὰκ περὶ Σάρρας τῆς μητρὸς αὐτοῦ.
