Chapter 47 ¹ Then Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 and told𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤃 Pharaoh,𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 My father𐤀𐤁𐤉 and my brethren,𐤅𐤀𐤇𐤉 and their flocks,𐤅𐤑𐤀𐤍𐤌 and their herds,𐤅𐤁𐤒𐤓𐤌 and all that they have, are come out𐤁𐤀𐤅 of the land𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan;𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 and, behold, they are in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Goshen.𐤂𐤔𐤍 Ἐλθὼν δὲ Ἰωσὴφ ἀπήγγειλεν τῷ Φαραὼ λέγων ῾Ο πατὴρ καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοὶ καὶ τὰ κτήνη καὶ οἱ βόες αὐτῶν καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτῶν ἦλθον ἐκ γῆς Χανάαν, καὶ ἰδού εἰσιν ἐν γῇ Γέσεμ. ² And he took𐤋𐤒𐤇 some𐤅𐤌𐤒𐤑𐤄 of his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 even five𐤇𐤌𐤔𐤄 men,𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 and presented𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤂𐤌 them unto𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 Pharaoh.𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 ἀπὸ δὲ τῶν ἀδελφῶν παρέλαβεν πέντε ἄνδρας καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτοὺς ἐναντίον Φαραώ. ³ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 What is your occupation?𐤌𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤊𐤌 And they said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 unto Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 Thy servants𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤊 are shepherds,𐤓𐤏𐤄 𐤑𐤀𐤍 both we, and also our fathers.𐤀𐤁𐤅𐤕𐤉𐤍𐤅 καὶ εἶπεν ἲς ἀδελφοῖς Ἰωσήφ Τί τὸ ἔργον ὑμῶν ; οἱ δὲ εἶπαν τῷ προβάτων οἱ παῖδές σου, καὶ ἡμεῖς καὶ οἱ πατέρες ἡ ⁴ They said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 moreover unto Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 For to sojourn𐤋𐤂𐤅𐤓 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 are we come;𐤁𐤀𐤍𐤅 for thy servants𐤋𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤊 have no pasture𐤌𐤓𐤏𐤄 for their flocks;𐤋𐤑𐤀𐤍 for the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 is sore𐤊𐤁𐤃 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan:𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤊 dwell𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤅 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Goshen.𐤂𐤔𐤍 εἶπαν δὲ τῷ Φαραώ παροικεῖν ἐν τῇ γῇ ἥκαμεν· οὐ γάρ ἐστιν νομὴ τοῖς κτήνεσιν τῶν παίδων σου, ἐνίσχυσεν γὰρ ὁ λιμὸς ἐν γῇ Χανάαν· νῦν οὑν κατοικήσομεν ἐν γῇ Γέσεμ. ⁵ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 spake𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 saying,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Thy father𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤊 and thy brethren𐤅𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤊 are come𐤁𐤀𐤅 unto thee: εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ Ἰωσήφ Κατοικείτωσαν ἐν γῇ Γέσεμ· εἰ δὲ ἐπίστῃ ὅτι εἰσὶν ἐν αὐτοῖς ἄνδρες δυνατοί, κατάστησον αὐτοὺς ἄρχοντας τῶν ἐμῶν κτηνῶν. ἦλθον δὲ εἰς Αἴγυπτον πρὸς Ἰωσὴφ Ἰακὼβ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἤκουσεν Φαραὼ βασιλεὺς Αἰγύπτου. καὶ εἶπεν Φαραὼ πρὸς Ἰωσὴφ λέγων Ὁ πατήρ σου καὶ οἱ ἀδελφοί σου ἥκασι πρὸς σέ· ⁶ The land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 is before thee;𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉𐤊 in the best𐤁𐤌𐤉𐤈𐤁 of the land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 make𐤄𐤅𐤔𐤁 thy father𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤊 and brethren𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤊 to dwell;𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤅 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Goshen𐤂𐤔𐤍 let them dwell: and if thou knowest𐤉𐤃𐤏𐤕 𐤅𐤉𐤔 any men𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉 of activity𐤇𐤉𐤋 among them, then make them𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤕𐤌 rulers𐤔𐤓𐤉 over my cattle.𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 ἰδοὺ ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου ἐναντίον σού ἐστιν· ἐν τῇ βελτίστῃ γῇ κατοίκισον τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφούς σου. ⁷ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 brought in𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 his father,𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 and set him𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤌𐤃𐤄𐤅 before𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 Pharaoh:𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 blessed𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 Pharaoh.𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 εἰσήγαγεν δὲ Ἰωσὴφ Ἰακὼβ τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔστησεν αὐτὸν ἐναντίον Φαραώ· καὶ εὐλόγησεν Ἰακὼβ τὸν Φαραώ. ⁸ And Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Jacob,𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 How𐤊𐤌𐤄 old𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤔𐤍𐤉 𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤊 art thou? εἶπεν δὲ Φαραὼ τῷ Ἰακώβ Πόσα eri; ἡμερῶν τῆς ζωῆς σου ; ⁹ And Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 The days𐤉𐤌𐤉 of the years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of my pilgrimage𐤌𐤂𐤅𐤓𐤉 are an hundred𐤅𐤌𐤀𐤕 and thirty𐤔𐤋𐤔𐤉𐤌 years:𐤔𐤍𐤄 few𐤌𐤏𐤈 and evil𐤅𐤓𐤏𐤉𐤌 have the days𐤉𐤌𐤉 of the years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of my life𐤇𐤉𐤉 been, and have not attained𐤄𐤔𐤉𐤂𐤅 unto the days𐤉𐤌𐤉 of the years𐤔𐤍𐤉 of the life𐤇𐤉𐤉 of my fathers𐤀𐤁𐤕𐤉 in the days𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉 of their pilgrimage.𐤌𐤂𐤅𐤓𐤉𐤄𐤌 καὶ εἶπεν Ἰακὼβ τῷ Φαραώ Αἱ ἡμέραι τῶν ἐτῶν τῆς ζωῆς μου ἃς παροικῶ ἑκατὸν τριάκοντα ἔτη· μικραὶ καὶ πονηραὶ γεγόνασιν αἱ ἡμέραι τῶν ἐτῶν τῆς ζωῆς μου· οὐκ ἀφἰκοντο εἰς τὰς ἥμερος τῶν ἐτῶν τῆς ζωῆς τῶν πατέρων μου, ἃς ἡμέρας παρῴκησαν. ¹⁰ And Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 blessed𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊 Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and went out𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤀 from before𐤌𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 Pharaoh.𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 καὶ εὐλογήσος Ἰακὼβ τὸν Φαραὼ ἐξῆλθεν ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ. ¹¹ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 placed𐤅𐤉𐤅𐤔𐤁 his father𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 and his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 and gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 them a possession𐤀𐤇𐤆𐤄 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 in the best𐤁𐤌𐤉𐤈𐤁 of the land,𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Rameses,𐤓𐤏𐤌𐤎𐤎 as Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 had commanded.𐤑𐤅𐤄 καὶ κατῴκισεν Ἰωσὴφ τὸν πατέρα καὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς κατάσχεσιν ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτου ἐν τῇ βελτίστῃ γῇ, ἐν γῇ Ῥαμεσσή, καθὰ προσέταξεν Φαραώ. ¹² And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 nourished𐤅𐤉𐤊𐤋𐤊𐤋 his father,𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 and his brethren,𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 and all his father's𐤀𐤁𐤉𐤅 household,𐤁𐤉𐤕 with bread,𐤋𐤇𐤌 according𐤋𐤐𐤉 to their families.𐤄𐤈𐤐 καὶ ἐσιτομέτρει Ἰωσὴφ τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ καὶ τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καὶ παντὶ τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ σῖτον κατὰ σῶμα. ¹³ And there was no bread𐤅𐤋𐤇𐤌 in all the land;𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 for the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 was very𐤌𐤀𐤃 sore,𐤊𐤁𐤃 so that the land𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and all the land𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 fainted𐤅𐤕𐤋𐤄 by reason𐤌𐤐𐤍𐤉 of the famine.𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 Σῖτος δὲ οὐκ ἦν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ, ἐνίσχυσεν γὰρ ὁ λιμὸς σφόδρα· ἐξέλιπεν δὲ ἡ γῆ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἡ γῆ Χανάαν ἀπὸ τοῦ λιμοῦ· ¹⁴ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 gathered up𐤅𐤉𐤋𐤒𐤈 all the money𐤄𐤊𐤎𐤐 that was found𐤄𐤍𐤌𐤑𐤀 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and in the land𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan,𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 for the corn𐤁𐤔𐤁𐤓 which they bought:𐤔𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤌 and Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 brought𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 the money𐤄𐤊𐤎𐤐 into Pharaoh's𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 house.𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤄 συνήγαγεν δὲ Ἰωσὴφ πᾶν τὸ ἀργύριον τὸ εὑρεθὲν ἐν γῆ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐν γῇ Χανάαν τοῦ σίτου ὃ ἠγόραζον, καὶ ἐσιτομέτρει αὐτοῖς· καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Ἰωσὴφ πᾶν τὸ ἀργύριον εἰς τὸν οἶκον Φαραώ. ¹⁵ And when money𐤄𐤊𐤎𐤐 failed𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤌 in the land𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and in the land𐤅𐤌𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Canaan,𐤊𐤍𐤏𐤍 all the Egyptians came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 unto Joseph,𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 and said,𐤋𐤀𐤌𐤓 Give𐤄𐤁𐤄 us bread:𐤋𐤇𐤌 for why should we die𐤍𐤌𐤅𐤕 in thy presence? for the money𐤊𐤎𐤐 faileth.𐤀𐤐𐤎 καὶ ἐξέλιπεν τὸ ἀργύριον πᾶν ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐκ γῆς Χανάαν· ἦλθον δὲ πάντες οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι πρὸς Ἰωσὴφ λέγοντες Δὸς ἡμῖν ἄρτους· καὶ ἵνα τί ἀποθνήσκομεν ἐναντίον σου ; ἐκλέλοιπεν γὰρ τὸ ἀργύριον ἡμῶν. ¹⁶ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Give𐤄𐤁𐤅 your cattle;𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤌 and I will give𐤅𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤄 you for your cattle,𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤌 if money𐤊𐤎𐤐 fail.𐤀𐤐𐤎 εἶπεν δὲ αὐτοῖς Ἰωσήφ Φέρετε τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν, καὶ δώσω ὑμῖν ἄρτους ἀντὶ τῶν κτηνῶν ὑμῶν, εἰ ἐκλέλοιπεν τὸ ἀργύριον ὑμῶν. ¹⁷ And they brought𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤉𐤀𐤅 their cattle𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤄𐤌 unto Joseph:𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 and Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 them bread𐤋𐤇𐤌 in exchange for horses,𐤁𐤎𐤅𐤎𐤉𐤌 and for the flocks,𐤄𐤑𐤀𐤍 and for the cattle𐤅𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 of the herds,𐤄𐤁𐤒𐤓 and for the asses:𐤅𐤁𐤇𐤌𐤓𐤉𐤌 and he fed𐤅𐤉𐤍𐤄𐤋𐤌 them with bread𐤁𐤋𐤇𐤌 for all their cattle𐤅𐤁𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 for that year.𐤁𐤔𐤍𐤄 ἤγαγον δὲ τὰ F κτήνη πρὸς Ἰωσήφ, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς Ἰωσὴφ ἄρτους ἀντὶ τῶν ἵππων καὶ ἀντὶ τῶν προβάτων καὶ ἀντὶ τῶν βοῶν καὶ ἀντὶ τῶν ὄνων· καὶ ἐξέθρεψεν αὐτοὺς ἐν ἄρτοις ἀντὶ πόντων τῶν κτηνῶν αὐτῶν ἐν τῷ ἐνιαυτῷ ἐκείνῳ. ¹⁸ When that year𐤄𐤔𐤍𐤄 was ended,𐤅𐤕𐤕𐤌 they came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 unto him the second𐤄𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤕 year,𐤁𐤔𐤍𐤄 and said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 unto him, We will not hide𐤍𐤊𐤇𐤃 it from my lord,𐤌𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 how that our money𐤄𐤊𐤎𐤐 is spent;𐤕𐤌 my lord𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 also hath𐤀𐤋𐤉𐤅 our herds𐤅𐤌𐤒𐤍𐤄 of cattle;𐤄𐤁𐤄𐤌𐤄 there is not ought left𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤓 in the sight𐤋𐤐𐤍𐤉 of my lord,𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 but our bodies,𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍𐤅 and our lands:𐤅𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤅 ἐξῆλθεν δὲ τὸ ἔτος ἐκεῖνο, καὶ ἦλθαν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐν τῷ ἔτει τῷ δευτέρῳ καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ Μή ποτε ἐκτριβῶμεν ἀπὸ τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν· εἰ γὰρ ἐκλέλοιπεν τὸ ἀργύριον ἡμῶν καὶ τὰ ὑπάρχοντα καὶ τὰ κτήνη πρὸς σὲ τὸν κύριον, καὶ οὐχ ὑπολείπεται ἡμῖν ἐναντίον τοῦ κυρίου ἀλλ’ ἢ τὸ ἴδιον σῶμα καὶ ἡ γῆ ἡμῶν. ¹⁹ Wherefore shall we die𐤍𐤌𐤅𐤕 before thine eyes,𐤋𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤊 both we and our land?𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤅 buy𐤒𐤍𐤄 us and our land𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤅 for bread,𐤁𐤋𐤇𐤌 and we and our land𐤅𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕𐤍𐤅 will be servants𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤌 unto Pharaoh:𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and give𐤅𐤕𐤍 us seed,𐤆𐤓𐤏 that we may live,𐤅𐤍𐤇𐤉𐤄 and not die,𐤍𐤌𐤅𐤕 that the land𐤅𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 be not desolate.𐤕𐤔𐤌 ἵνα μὴ ἀποθάνωμεν ἐναντίον σου καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐρημωθῇ, κτῆσαι ἡμᾶς καὶ τὴν γῆν ἡμῶν ἀντὶ ἄρτων, καὶ ἐσόμεθα ἡμεῖς καὶ ἡ γῆ ἡμῶν παῖδες δὸς σπέρμα ἵνα σπείρωμεν καὶ μὴ ἀποθάνωμεν, καὶ ἡ γῆ θήσεται. ²⁰ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 bought𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤍 all the land𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 for Pharaoh;𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 for the Egyptians sold𐤌𐤊𐤓𐤅 every man𐤀𐤉𐤔 his field,𐤔𐤃𐤄𐤅 because the famine𐤄𐤓𐤏𐤁 prevailed𐤇𐤆𐤒 over them: so the land𐤄𐤀𐤓𐤑 became Pharaoh's.𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 καὶ ἐκτήσατο Ἰωσὴφ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν τῶν Αἰγυπτίων τῷ Φαραώ· ἀπέδοντο γὰρ οἱ Αἰγύπτιοι τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν τῷ Φαραώ, ἐπεκράτησεν γὰρ αὐτῶν ὁ λιμός, καὶ ἐγένετο ἡ γῆ Φαραώ· ²¹ And as for the people,𐤄𐤏𐤌 he removed𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤉𐤓 them to cities𐤋𐤏𐤓𐤉𐤌 from one end𐤌𐤒𐤑𐤄 of the borders𐤂𐤁𐤅𐤋 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 even to the other end𐤒𐤑𐤄𐤅 thereof. καὶ τὸν λαὸν κατεδουλώσατο αὐτῷ εἰς παῖδας, ἀπ’ ἄκρων ὁρίων ἕως τῶν ἄκρων, ²² Only the land𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕 of the priests𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍𐤉𐤌 bought he𐤒𐤍𐤄 not; for the priests𐤋𐤊𐤄𐤍𐤉𐤌 had a portion𐤇𐤒 assigned them of Pharaoh,𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and did eat𐤅𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤅 their portion𐤇𐤒𐤌 which Pharaoh𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 gave𐤍𐤕𐤍 them: wherefore they sold𐤌𐤊𐤓𐤅 not their lands.𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕𐤌 χωρὶς τῆς γῆς τῶν ἱερέων μόνον. οὐκ ἐκτίήσατο ταύτην Ἰωσήφ· ἐν δόσει γὰρ ἔδωκεν δόμα τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν Φαραώ, καὶ ἤσθιον τὴν δόσιν ἢν ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς Φαραώ· διὰ τοῦτο οὐκ ἀπέδοντο τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν.’ ²³ Then Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto the people,𐤄𐤏𐤌 Behold, I have bought𐤒𐤍𐤉𐤕𐤉 𐤀𐤕𐤊𐤌 you this day𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 and your land𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕𐤊𐤌 for Pharaoh:𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 lo,𐤄𐤀 here is seed𐤆𐤓𐤏 for you, and ye shall sow𐤅𐤆𐤓𐤏𐤕𐤌 the land.𐤄𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 εἶπεν δὲ Ἰωσὴφ πᾶσι τοῖς Αἰγυπτίοις ἰδοὺ κέκτημαι ὑμᾶς καὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν σήμερον τῷ Φαραώ, λάβετε αὑτοῖς σπέρμα καὶ σπείρατε τὴν γῆν· ²⁴ And it shall come to pass in the increase,𐤁𐤕𐤁𐤅𐤀𐤕 that ye shall give𐤅𐤍𐤕𐤕𐤌 the fifth𐤇𐤌𐤉𐤔𐤉𐤕 part unto Pharaoh,𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 and four𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤁𐤏 parts𐤄𐤉𐤃𐤕 shall be your own, for seed𐤋𐤆𐤓𐤏 of the field,𐤄𐤔𐤃𐤄 and for your food,𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤊𐤌 and for them of your households,𐤁𐤁𐤕𐤉𐤊𐤌 and for food𐤅𐤋𐤀𐤊𐤋 for your little ones.𐤋𐤈𐤐𐤊𐤌 καὶ ἱστᾶι τὰ γενήματα αὐτῆς, δώσετε τὸ πέρπτον μέρος τῷ Φαραώ· τὰ δὲ τέσσερα μέρη ἔσται ὑμῖν αὐτοῖς εἰς σπέρμα τῇ γῇ καὶ εἰς βρῶσιν ὑμῖν καὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς οἴκοις ὑμῶν. ²⁵ And they said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤅 Thou hast saved our lives:𐤄𐤇𐤉𐤕𐤍𐤅 let us find𐤍𐤌𐤑𐤀 grace𐤇𐤍 in the sight𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉 of my lord,𐤀𐤃𐤍𐤉 and we will be Pharaoh's𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 servants.𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤌 καὶ εἶπαν Σέσωκας ἡμᾶς, εὕρομεν χάριν ἐναντίον τοῦ κυρίου ἡμῶν, καὶ ἐσόμεθα παῖδες Φαραώ. ²⁶ And Joseph𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 made𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌 it a law𐤋𐤇𐤒 over the land𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 unto this day,𐤄𐤉𐤅𐤌 that Pharaoh𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 should have the fifth𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤔 part; except𐤓𐤒 the land𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤕 of the priests𐤄𐤊𐤄𐤍𐤉𐤌 only, which became not Pharaoh's.𐤋𐤐𐤓𐤏𐤄 καὶ ἔθετο αὐτοῖς Ἰωσὴφ εἰς πρόσταγμα ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης ἐπὶ γῆν Αἰγύπτου τῷ Φαραὼ ἀποπεμπτοῦν, χωρὶς τῆς γῆς τῶν ἱερέων μόνον· οὐκ ἢν τῷ Φαραώ. ²⁷ And Israel𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 dwelt𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt,𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 in the country𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Goshen;𐤂𐤔𐤍 and they had possessions𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤇𐤆𐤅 therein, and grew,𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤓𐤅 and multiplied𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤁𐤅 exceedingly.𐤌𐤀𐤃 κατῴκησεν δὲ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν γῆ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς Γέσεμ· καὶ ἐκληρονόμησαν ἐπ’ αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐπληθύνθησαν σφόδρα. ²⁸ And Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 lived𐤅𐤉𐤇𐤉 in the land𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤑 of Egypt𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 seventeen𐤔𐤁𐤏 𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 years:𐤔𐤍𐤄 so the whole age𐤉𐤌𐤉 𐤇𐤉𐤉𐤅 of Jacob𐤉𐤏𐤒𐤁 was an hundred𐤅𐤌𐤀𐤕 forty𐤔𐤍𐤉 𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤌 and seven𐤔𐤁𐤏 years.𐤔𐤍𐤉𐤌 ᾿Επέζησεν δὲ Ἰακὼβ ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἔτη δέκα ἑπτά· ἐγένοντο δὲ αἱ ἡμέραι Ἰακὼβ ἐνιαυτῶν τῆς ζωῆς αὐτοῦ ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα ἑπτὰ ὄη. ²⁹ And the time𐤉𐤌𐤉 drew nigh𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤁𐤅 that Israel𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 must die:𐤋𐤌𐤅𐤕 and he called𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤓𐤀 his son𐤋𐤁𐤍𐤅 Joseph,𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤎𐤐 and said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto him, If now I have found𐤌𐤑𐤀𐤕𐤉 grace𐤇𐤍 in thy sight,𐤁𐤏𐤉𐤍𐤉𐤊 put,𐤔𐤉𐤌 I pray thee, thy hand𐤉𐤃𐤊 under my thigh,𐤉𐤓𐤊𐤉 and deal𐤅𐤏𐤔𐤉𐤕 kindly𐤇𐤎𐤃 and truly𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤕 with me; bury𐤕𐤒𐤁𐤓𐤍𐤉 me not, I pray thee, in Egypt:𐤁𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 ἤγγισαν δὲ αἱ ἡμέραι Ἰσραὴλ ἀποθανεῖν, καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ Ἰωσὴφ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ Εἰ εὕρηκα χάριν ἐναντίον σου, ὑπόθες τὴν χεῖρά σου ὑπὸ τὸν μηρόν μου, καὶ ποιήσεις ἐπ’ ἐμὲ ἐλεημοσύνην καὶ ἀλήθειαν τοῦ μή με θάψαι ἐν Αἰγύπτῳ· ³⁰ But I will lie𐤅𐤔𐤊𐤁𐤕𐤉 with my fathers,𐤀𐤁𐤕𐤉 and thou shalt carry𐤅𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤕𐤍𐤉 me out of Egypt,𐤌𐤌𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤌 and bury𐤅𐤒𐤁𐤓𐤕𐤍𐤉 me in their buryingplace.𐤁𐤒𐤁𐤓𐤕𐤌 And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 I will do𐤀𐤏𐤔𐤄 as thou hast said.𐤊𐤃𐤁𐤓𐤊 ἀλλὰ κοιμηθήσομαι μετὰ τῶν πατέρων μου, καὶ ἀρεῖς με ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ θάψεις με ἐν τῷ τάφῳ αὐτῶν. ὁ δὲ εἶπεν Ἐγὼ ποιήσω κατὰ τὸ ῥῆμά σου. ³¹ And he said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Swear𐤄𐤔𐤁𐤏𐤄 unto me. And he sware𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤏 unto him. And Israel𐤉𐤔𐤓𐤀𐤋 bowed𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤕𐤇𐤅 himself upon the bed's𐤄𐤌𐤈𐤄 𐤐 head.𐤓𐤀𐤔 εἶπεν δέ ὄμοσον μοι. καὶ ὤμοσεν αὐτῷ· καὶ προσεκύνησεν Ἰσραὴλ ἐπὶ τὸ ἄκρον τῆς ῥάβδου αὐτοῦ.
