Chapter 14 ¹ And it came to pass in the days𐤁𐤉𐤌𐤉 of Amraphel𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤐𐤋 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Shinar,𐤔𐤍𐤏𐤓 Arioch𐤀𐤓𐤉𐤅𐤊 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Ellasar,𐤀𐤋𐤎𐤓 Chedorlaomer𐤊𐤃𐤓𐤋𐤏𐤌𐤓 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Elam,𐤏𐤉𐤋𐤌 and Tidal𐤅𐤕𐤃𐤏𐤋 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of nations;𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῇ ἈμαρΦὰλ βασιλέως Σενναάρ, Ἀριὼχ βασιλεὺς Ἐλλασὰρ καὶ ὁ Χοσολλογόμορ βασιλεὺς Αἰλὰμ καὶ Θαλγὰ βασιλεὺς ἐθνῶν ² That these made𐤏𐤔𐤅 war𐤌𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤄 with𐤀𐤕 Bera𐤁𐤓𐤏 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Sodom,𐤎𐤃𐤌 and with Birsha𐤁𐤓𐤔𐤏 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Gomorrah,𐤏𐤌𐤓𐤄 Shinab𐤔𐤍𐤀𐤁 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Admah,𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 and Shemeber𐤅𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤁𐤓 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Zeboiim,𐤑𐤁𐤅𐤉𐤌 and the king𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Bela,𐤁𐤋𐤏 which is𐤄𐤉𐤀 Zoar.𐤑𐤏𐤓 ἐποίησαν πόλεμον μετὰ Βάλλα βασιλέως Σοδόμων καὶ μετὰ Βαρσὰ βασιλέως Γομόρρας καὶ Σενναὰρ βασιλέως Ἀδαμὰ καὶ Συμόβορ βασιλέως Σεβωεὶμ καὶ μετὰ βασιλέως Βάλακ· αὕτη ἐστὶν Σήγωρ. ³ All these were joined together𐤇𐤁𐤓𐤅 in the vale𐤏𐤌𐤒 of Siddim,𐤄𐤔𐤃𐤉𐤌 which𐤄𐤅𐤀 is the salt𐤄𐤌𐤋𐤇 sea.𐤉𐤌 πάντες οὗτοι συνεφώνησαν ἐπὶ τὴν φάραγγα ἁλυκήν· αὕτη ἡ θάλασσα τῶν ἁλῶν. ⁴ Twelve𐤔𐤕𐤉𐤌 𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 years𐤔𐤍𐤄 they served𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤅 𐤀𐤕 Chedorlaomer,𐤊𐤃𐤓𐤋𐤏𐤌𐤓 and in the thirteenth𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤔 𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 year𐤔𐤍𐤄 they rebelled.𐤌𐤓𐤃𐤅 δώδεκα ἔτη ἐδούλευον τῷ τῷ δὲ τρισκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει ἀπέστησαν. ⁵ And in the fourteenth𐤅𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤁𐤏 𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤄 year𐤔𐤍𐤄 came𐤁𐤀 Chedorlaomer,𐤊𐤃𐤓𐤋𐤏𐤌𐤓 and the kings𐤅𐤄𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉𐤌 that were with him, and smote𐤅𐤉𐤊𐤅 the Rephaims𐤓𐤐𐤀𐤉𐤌 in Ashteroth Karnaim,𐤁𐤏𐤔𐤕𐤓𐤕 and the Zuzims𐤄𐤆𐤅𐤆𐤉𐤌 in Ham,𐤁𐤄𐤌 and the Emims𐤄𐤀𐤉𐤌𐤉𐤌 in Shaveh Kiriathaim, ἐν δὲ τῷ τεσσαρεσκαιδεκάτῳ ἔτει ἦλθεν Χοδολλογόμορ καὶ οἱ Βασιλεῖς οἱ μετ’ αὐτοῦ, καὶ τοὺς γίγαντας τοὺς ἐν Ἀσταρὼθ αρνάιν, καὶ ἔθνη ἰσχυρὰ ἅμα αὐτοῖς, καὶ τοὺς Σομαίους τοὺς ἐν Σαυὴ τῇ πόλει, ⁶ And the Horites𐤄𐤇𐤓𐤉 in their mount Seir,𐤔𐤏𐤉𐤓 unto El–paran,𐤀𐤉𐤋 which is by𐤏𐤋 the wilderness.𐤄𐤌𐤃𐤁𐤓 καὶ τοὺς Χορραὶανς τοὺς ἐν τοῖς ὄρεσιν Σηείρ, ἕως τῆς τερεμίνθου τῆς Φοράν, ἥ ἐστιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ.’ ⁷ And they returned,𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁𐤅 and came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀𐤅 to𐤀𐤋 En–mishpat,𐤏𐤉𐤍 which is Kadesh,𐤒𐤃𐤔 and smote𐤅𐤉𐤊𐤅 all the country𐤔𐤃𐤄 of the Amalekites,𐤄𐤏𐤌𐤋𐤒𐤉 and also the Amorites,𐤄𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤉 that dwelt𐤄𐤉𐤔𐤁 in Hazezon–tamar.𐤁𐤇𐤑𐤑𐤍 καὶ ἀναστρέψαντες ἤλθοσαν ἐπὶ τὴν πηγὴν τῆς κρίσεως, αὕτη ἐστὶν Καδής, καὶ κατέκοψαν πάντας τοὺς ἄρχοντας Ἀμαλὴκ καὶ τοὺς Ἀμορραίους τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ἁσασὰν Θάμαρ. ⁸ And there went out𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤀 the king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Sodom,𐤎𐤃𐤌 and the king𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Gomorrah,𐤏𐤌𐤓𐤄 and the king𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Admah,𐤀𐤃𐤌𐤄 and the king𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Zeboiim,𐤑𐤁𐤅𐤉𐤌 and the king𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Bela𐤁𐤋𐤏 (the same𐤄𐤅𐤀 is Zoar;)𐤑𐤏𐤓 and they joined𐤅𐤉𐤏𐤓𐤊𐤅 battle𐤌𐤋𐤇𐤌𐤄 with them in the vale𐤁𐤏𐤌𐤒 of Siddim;𐤄𐤔𐤃𐤉𐤌 ἐξῆλθεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδόμων καὶ βασιλεὺς Γομόρρας καὶ βασιλεὺς Ἀδαμὰ καὶ βασιλεὺς Σεβωεὶμ καὶ βασιλεὺς Βαλὰκ, αὔτη ἐστὶν Σήγωρ, καὶ παρετάξαντο αὐτοῖς εἰς πόλεμον ἐν τῇ κοιλάδι τῇ ἁλυκῇ, ⁹ With Chedorlaomer𐤊𐤃𐤓𐤋𐤏𐤌𐤓 the king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Elam,𐤏𐤉𐤋𐤌 and with Tidal𐤅𐤕𐤃𐤏𐤋 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of nations,𐤂𐤅𐤉𐤌 and Amraphel𐤅𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤐𐤋 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Shinar,𐤔𐤍𐤏𐤓 and Arioch𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤉𐤅𐤊 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Ellasar;𐤀𐤋𐤎𐤓 four𐤀𐤓𐤁𐤏𐤄 kings𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉𐤌 with five.𐤄𐤇𐤌𐤔𐤄 πρὸς Χοδολλόμορ βασιλέα Αἰλὰμ καὶ Θαλγὰλ βασιλέα ἐθνῶν καὶ Ἀμαρφὰλ βασιλέα Σενναὰρ καὶ Ἀριὼχ βασιλέα Ἐλλασάρ, οἱ τέσσαρες οὗτοι βασιλεῖς πρὸς τοὺς πέντε. ¹⁰ And the vale𐤅𐤏𐤌𐤒 of Siddim𐤄𐤔𐤃𐤉𐤌 was full of slimepits;𐤁𐤀𐤓𐤕 𐤇𐤌𐤓 and the kings𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Sodom𐤎𐤃𐤌 and Gomorrah𐤅𐤏𐤌𐤓𐤄 fled,𐤅𐤉𐤍𐤎𐤅 and fell𐤅𐤉𐤐𐤋𐤅 there; and they that remained𐤅𐤄𐤍𐤔𐤀𐤓𐤉𐤌 fled𐤍𐤎𐤅 to the mountain.𐤄𐤓𐤄 ἡ δὲ κοιλὰς ἡ ἁλυκὴ φρέατα ἀσφάλτου. ἔφυγεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδόμων καὶ βασιλεὺς Γομόρρας, καὶ ἐνέπεσαν ἐκεῖ οἱ δὲ καταλειφθέντες εἰς τὴν ὀρινὴν ἔφυγον. ¹¹ And they took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇𐤅 all the goods𐤓𐤊𐤔 of Sodom𐤎𐤃𐤌 and Gomorrah,𐤅𐤏𐤌𐤓𐤄 and all their victuals,𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤌 and went their way. ἔλαβεν δὲ τὴν πᾶσαν τὴν Σοδόμων καὶ Γομόρρας καὶ πάντα τὰ βρώματα , καὶ ἀπῆλθον. ¹² And they took𐤅𐤉𐤒𐤇𐤅 Lot,𐤋𐤅𐤈 Abram's𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 brother's𐤀𐤇𐤉 son,𐤁𐤍 who dwelt𐤉𐤔𐤁 in Sodom,𐤁𐤎𐤃𐤌 and his goods,𐤓𐤊𐤔𐤅 and departed. ἔλαβον δὲ καὶ τὸν Λὼτ υἱὸν τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Ἀβρὰμ καὶ τὴν ἀποσκευὴν αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἀπῴχοντο· ἢν γὰρ κατοικῶν ἐν Σοδόμοις. ¹³ And there came𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤀 one that had escaped,𐤄𐤐𐤋𐤉𐤈 and told𐤅𐤉𐤂𐤃 Abram𐤋𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 the Hebrew;𐤄𐤏𐤁𐤓𐤉 for he dwelt𐤔𐤊𐤍 in the plain𐤁𐤀𐤋𐤍𐤉 of Mamre𐤌𐤌𐤓𐤀 the Amorite,𐤄𐤀𐤌𐤓𐤉 brother𐤀𐤇𐤉 of Eshcol,𐤀𐤔𐤊𐤋 and brother𐤅𐤀𐤇𐤉 of Aner:𐤏𐤍𐤓 and these were confederate𐤁𐤏𐤋𐤉 𐤁𐤓𐤉𐤕 with Abram.𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 παραγενόμενος δὲ τῶν ἀνασωθέντων τις κατοικῶν Ἀβρὰμ τῷ περάτῃ· αὐτὸς δὲ κατῴκει ἐν τῇ δρυὶ τῇ Μαμβρῆ ὁ Ἄμορις τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Ἐσχὼλ καὶ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ Αὐνάν, οἳ ἦσαν συνωμόται τοῦ Ἀβράμ. ¹⁴ And when Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 heard𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤌𐤏 that his brother𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 was taken captive,𐤍𐤔𐤁𐤄 he armed𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤒 his trained𐤇𐤍𐤉𐤊𐤉𐤅 servants, born𐤉𐤋𐤉𐤃𐤉 in his own house,𐤁𐤉𐤕𐤅 three𐤅𐤔𐤋𐤔 hundred𐤌𐤀𐤅𐤕 and eighteen,𐤔𐤌𐤍𐤄 𐤏𐤔𐤓 and pursued𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤐 them unto Dan.𐤃𐤍 ἀκούσας δὲ Ἀβρὰμ ὅτι ᾐχμαλωτεύθη Λὼτ ὁ ἀδελφὸς αὐτοῦ, ἠρίθμησεν τοὺς ἰδίους οἰκογενεῖς αὐτοῦ, τριακοσίους δέκα καὶ ὀκτώ, καὶ κατεδίωξεν ὀπίσω αὐτῶν ἕως Δάν. Δάν. ¹⁵ And he divided𐤅𐤉𐤇𐤋𐤒 himself against them, he and his servants,𐤅𐤏𐤁𐤃𐤉𐤅 by night,𐤋𐤉𐤋𐤄 and smote𐤅𐤉𐤊𐤌 them, and pursued𐤅𐤉𐤓𐤃𐤐𐤌 them unto Hobah,𐤇𐤅𐤁𐤄 which is on the left hand𐤌𐤔𐤌𐤀𐤋 of Damascus.𐤋𐤃𐤌𐤔𐤒 καὶ ἐπέπεσεν ἐπ’ αὐτοὺς τὴν νύκτα αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ παῖδες αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐπάταξεν καὶ ἐδίωξεν αὐτοὺς ἕως Χωβάλ, ἡ ἐστιν ἐν ἀριστερᾷ Δαμάσκου. ¹⁶ And he brought back𐤅𐤉𐤔𐤁 all the goods,𐤄𐤓𐤊𐤔 and also brought again𐤄𐤔𐤉𐤁 his brother𐤀𐤇𐤉𐤅 Lot,𐤋𐤅𐤈 and his goods,𐤅𐤓𐤊𐤔𐤅 and the women𐤄𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 also, and the people.𐤄𐤏𐤌 καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν πᾶσαν τὴν ἴππον Σοδόμων· καὶ Καὶ τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ ἀπέστρεψεν καὶ πάντα τὰ ὑπάρχοντα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὰς γυναῖκας καὶ τὸν λαόν. ¹⁷ And the king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Sodom𐤎𐤃𐤌 went out𐤅𐤉𐤑𐤀 to meet him after𐤀𐤇𐤓𐤉 his return𐤔𐤅𐤁𐤅 from the slaughter𐤌𐤄𐤊𐤅𐤕 of Chedorlaomer,𐤊𐤃𐤓𐤋𐤏𐤌𐤓 and of the kings𐤄𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉𐤌 that were with him, at the valley𐤏𐤌𐤒 of Shaveh,𐤔𐤅𐤄 which𐤄𐤅𐤀 is the king's𐤄𐤌𐤋𐤊 dale.𐤏𐤌𐤒 Ἐξῆλθεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδόμων εἰς συνάντησιν αὐτῷ, μετὰ τὸ ὑποστρέψαι αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς κοπῆς τοῦ Χοδαλλογόμορ καὶ τῶν βασιλέων τῶν μετ’ αὐτοῦ, εἰς τὴν κοιλάδα τὴν Σαύην· τοῦτο ἦν τὸ πεδίον βασιλέως. ¹⁸ And Melchizedek𐤅𐤌𐤋𐤊𐤉 king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Salem𐤔𐤋𐤌 brought forth𐤄𐤅𐤑𐤉𐤀 bread𐤋𐤇𐤌 and wine:𐤅𐤉𐤉𐤍 and he was the priest𐤊𐤄𐤍 of the most high𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤍 God.𐤋𐤀𐤋 καὶ Μελχισεδὲκ βασιλεὺς Σαλὴμ ἐξήνεγκεω ἄρτους καὶ οἶνον· ἦν δὲ ἱερεὺς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ ὑψίστου. ¹⁹ And he blessed𐤅𐤉𐤁𐤓𐤊𐤄𐤅 him, and said,𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 Blessed𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤊 be Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 of the most high𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤍 God,𐤋𐤀𐤋 possessor𐤒𐤍𐤄 of heaven𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 and earth:𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤑 καὶ ηὐλόγησεν τὸν Ἀβρὰμ καὶ εἶπεν Εὐλογημένος Ἀβρὰμ τῷ θεῷ τῷ ὑψίστῳ, ὃς ἔκτισεν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν· ²⁰ And blessed𐤅𐤁𐤓𐤅𐤊 be the most high𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤍 God,𐤀𐤋 which hath delivered𐤌𐤂𐤍 thine enemies𐤑𐤓𐤉𐤊 into thy hand.𐤁𐤉𐤃𐤊 And he gave𐤅𐤉𐤕𐤍 him tithes𐤌𐤏𐤔𐤓 of all. καὶ εὐλογητὸς ὁ θεὸς ὁ ὕψιστος, ὃς παρέδωκεν τοὺς ἐχθρούς σου ὑποχειρίους σοι. καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ δεκάτην ἀπὸ πάντων. ²¹ And the king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Sodom𐤎𐤃𐤌 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 unto Abram,𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 Give𐤕𐤍 me the persons,𐤄𐤍𐤐𐤔 and take𐤒𐤇 the goods𐤅𐤄𐤓𐤊𐤔 to thyself. εἶπεν δὲ βασιλεὺς Σοδόμων πρὸς Ἀβρόμ Δός μοι τοὺς ἄνδρας, τὴν δὲ ἵππον λάβε σεαυτῷ. ²² And Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 said𐤅𐤉𐤀𐤌𐤓 to the king𐤌𐤋𐤊 of Sodom,𐤎𐤃𐤌 I have lift up𐤄𐤓𐤉𐤌𐤕𐤉 mine hand𐤉𐤃𐤉 unto the Lord,𐤉𐤄𐤅𐤄 the most high𐤏𐤋𐤉𐤅𐤍 God,𐤀𐤋 the possessor𐤒𐤍𐤄 of heaven𐤔𐤌𐤉𐤌 and earth,𐤅𐤀𐤓𐤑 εἶπεν δὲ Ἀβρὰμ πρὸς Σοδόμων Ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου πρὸς τὸν θεὸν τὸν ὕψιστον, ὃς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γῆν, ²³ That I will not𐤀𐤌 take from a thread𐤌𐤇𐤅𐤈 even to a shoelatchet,𐤔𐤓𐤅𐤊 𐤍𐤏𐤋 and that I will not𐤅𐤀𐤌 take𐤀𐤒𐤇 any thing that is thine, lest thou shouldest say,𐤕𐤀𐤌𐤓 I have made𐤄𐤏𐤔𐤓𐤕𐤉 Abram𐤀𐤁𐤓𐤌 rich: εἰ ἀπὸ σπαρτίου ἕως σφαιρωτῆρος λήμψομαι ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν σῶν· ἵνα μὴ εἴπῃς ὅτι Ἐγὼ ἐπλούτισα τὸν Ἀβράμ. ²⁴ Save𐤁𐤋𐤏𐤃𐤉 only that which𐤀𐤔𐤓 the young men𐤄𐤍𐤏𐤓𐤉𐤌 have eaten,𐤀𐤊𐤋𐤅 and the portion𐤅𐤇𐤋𐤒 of the men𐤄𐤀𐤍𐤔𐤉𐤌 which went𐤄𐤋𐤊𐤅 with𐤀𐤕𐤉 me, Aner,𐤏𐤍𐤓 Eshcol,𐤀𐤔𐤊𐤋 and Mamre;𐤅𐤌𐤌𐤓𐤀 let them𐤄𐤌 take𐤉𐤒𐤇𐤅 their portion.𐤇𐤋𐤒𐤌 𐤎 πλὴν ὦν ἔΦαγον οἱ νεανίσκοι καὶ ·τῆς μερίδος ἀνδρῶν τῶν συμπορευθέντων μετ’ ἐμοῦ, Ἐσχώλ, Αὐνάν, Μαμβρῆ· οὗτοι λάμψονται μερίδα.
